She was born to the second leader of the clan, Mardel, and took over after Azul's reign ended.

Back then, the clan was not friendly to outsiders, keeping them away and focusing only on the clan's own survival. This backfired and led to an attack from the angry families of those who had died because Azul did not allow the clan to help.
