Royalty
Royalty always knew of the blood fizzing in his veins. He knew, the day he bled first. He watched the blood shimmer and disappear in yellow sparks. He told no one, but they would find out eventually. He just never expected it to be so soon.

The rhythmic thump of his paws against the packed dirt calms Royalty as he runs. It is at least some order in his life. He will run until he finds safety, or until he dies. Very comforting indeed. He knew that offspring of the Glitch Queen were hated, despised. But he never expected to be found out. That first day he bled ... he was very careful to never be injured in front of other clan members. Why didn't he just leave?

It's complicated, he supposes. They had cared for him. They were all his family, even if they weren't his biological family. He knew he couldn't survive out there. Now, Royalty's only hope is to survive this. But the Fae on his track are dogged. Silly-looking, but fast fliers. They know Royalty all too well, and before this he thought it was an advantage, but no longer.
... but I come back knowing so much more ...
No, if he makes a wrong turn, he won't come back. Royalty takes deep, ragged breaths, inhaling the clean air as he reaches the shoreline. The cliff is taller than he remembers, but he all too well remembers the little path carved through it. Darting through it, Royalty's paws place in all of the right places. Rock crumbles down into the clear water, but the Imperial knows exactly what he's doing.
... I face the music ...
Royalty slips. Just once, but it is enough as the rock crumbles away under his paws and the section of path he was so carefully creeping over plunges into the sea, along with him. Cold writhes through his body as he hits the water, all of his thoughts clamoring in his mind, the voice chanting louder, louder, as if it's been trying to warn him.
He does not know what happens next.
He does not know if he lives or dies.
He does not know if he is a ghost.
But he knows that he has come back.
