Confident and self-assured, Syncytia was originally assigned to Pleurisy, who rapidly found her over-confident and overbearing and passed her care on to Nosoi. Nosoi, sure of her own failure, was at first taken aback by Cytie's blithe confidence, but rapidly came to tamp down on it, and question her every decision and point out the flaws.

Cytie has long attributed her survival of the trials to her multi-eye, but has begun to question that under Nosoi's guidance - Nosoi, after all, passed all of the trials alone and became a full Necromancer, while Cytie is but a 'servus. Likewise, Eschar is utterly devout to the Plaguebringer and always has been, and yet is a Ghoul - but that does not mean Ghouls are the ultimate true Hand Sinister of Plague, for Myo is cynical, and contrary to all of Eschar's dedication.

With all these contrary facts of life pointed out to her, Syncytia has begun to question things more, though she is still, often, irrepressibly confident.

Cytie is most known as an archive of disease; each of her eyes can and does carry a disease and several variants thereof in the eye fluid. In this way she can easily manipulate and propagate her own plagues, as well as store some of the more dangerous examples held by the other Necro's of the clan. Though the Wraith, Iridium, tries to convince her to turn these all against them, she refuses, though it worries many of the clan that she speaks to him at all.

There are some schools of thought that believe a Necroservus should be seen and not heard. Indeed, it is the school to which Pestilentia was trained, and Syncytia has watched Pestilentia since she arrived, the way so huge an imperial so quietly follows her mirror master.

She knows that Pestilentia will speak her mind to her master. That Pleurisy is not so much a fool as to ignore the benefit of a second opinion. But Syncytia has never liked it, how Pestilentia is expected to remain silent so as not to shame her master.

She has seen worse-treated 'servi too. Those browbeaten into obedience, those made to grovel for forgiveness be that from their master or from their master's friends.

Those that might be made to do those things, and still be treated like dirt.

Syncytia, at least, has never been so treated. The clan of Tethys is kind, the necromancers under Aerugosanguis likewise - Pestilentia chooses to follow protocol, but not even Pleurisy expects it of her - but Syncytia knows of it. Sometimes, when 'servi are left together while their masters gossip, they talk. Sometimes they don't.

Regardless, Syncytia has more than enough eyes with which to watch. She sees, perhaps, far more than many might like.

And she is not inclined to forget.
