- sycamore is the initial patriarch and the former leader of the clan genesys now heads. he was not a good leader and was greedy for territory despite his noble persona. this came to a head in his conflict with genesys, who simply did not want him taking the home he'd already made. sycamore became corrupted and demanded his rights to territory and the clan that genesys was now tearing away from him.

- sycamore and genesys fought by moonlight for a long time, a duel in which he lost. after the duel, he was knocked cold and fell into the ocean. he woke up on the shores of nature, now turned into an aberration. sycamore despises his new form and believes it to be a curse of the past, still bitter about what was taken away from him. umber pleads with him alongside the other botanists to let go of the past, but sycamore is adamant on his desires.

- even despite his vehement tendencies, he has still become one with the peace garden and frequently plants new life to help rhiwallon, seeing the guardian as "lucky" that he never fell to such depths of being made an "abomination". he tries to move on, but remains deep-seated in his grudge despite his best efforts.
