Biography

Galtan is an unusual Spiral dragon who was purchased from a poor Tundra family to an aging Alchemist who longed for an apprentice to carry on his work in the oceanic kingdom. He's soft spoken and incredibly unnerving to be around because of his habit of mumbling to himself and staring into space. In general he's very subdued and quiet unless he's practicing Alchemy, in which case, he's whizzing between shelves and brewing potions so quickly he seems hardly more than a white blur. All his flaws together though make for a wicked and powerful Sorcerer Alchemist, the practice of which really should be taken to the Arcane flight, however King Starbuck demands that he remain in his kingdom in order to exert power over the lesser kingdoms around him. Galtan doesn't care what king he serves so long as he can do what he pleases.

Galten was later 'gifted' the King's illegitimate twin granddaughters Kyla and Samria as assistants in his magical arts (mostly so the King and Queen could use them to further their power). It was quickly discovered, unfortunately that that Kyla was in no way gifted with Alchemy bur rather had the power of divination, so she was given by Galtan to Trysta the reclusive and dangerous diviner. Samria, however, was proficient in magic and could keep up with Galtan's maniacal speed while remaining calm and collected. She grew to admire her strange master and developed a crush on him, even if he appeared much older than her.

Galtan returns none of these feelings really, if he's even aware that they exist, though he does admire his student for her abilities with magic. Galtan is more interested in his bride-to-be Jinx and has devised a means with which to watch her at nearly all times to learn as much as he can about her and her habits. To him, she's just another subject to study and master, a means to experiment with his own genes and to gain more security in the kingdom. Despite seeing her as a mere subject, Galten truly thinks Jinx will be happy in his dim laboratory and dusty library when she clearly would rather walk the beaches and be alone...
