Biography

Nevermore- Spy- The Night of Dark

Theme Song

Mate: Poe. Forever.

Quirk: Is in perfect sync with Poe.

Nevermore, along with Poe, function as the clan's most elite spies. Sightless in the night, she and Poe slip under the cover of darkness to gather information. Their skills aren't simply meant for tracking enemies- the two of them also find food sources and give the clan news. Despite their similar appearance, Poe and Nevermore are mates, not siblings.

Nevermore tends to be the more distant of the two. The two of them only seem to talk to the founders and Zeryx. However, Nevermore has been observed to be more at ease and calm when with Zeryx or Poe, and has stated she considers Zeryx a friend.

Poe and Nevermore have known each other for years. They knew each other as children. The two were hatched from parents, and they were born for one purpose- to serve as assassins. Training constantly in the ways of stealth, Poe and Nevermore grew and became close friends. While Nevermore was the star student of the training program, Poe had far more potential- but his teachers noticed his reluctance to practice certain exercises. Poe did not enjoy the thought of killing- as a result, the teachers entrusted Nevermore to try and train his mind.

Nevermore immediately disliked the idea of trying to convince Poe, but refused to to lose her reputation. As such, the two dragons trained together. Over time, they learned more of one another and became closer. While Poe became less fearful and difficult, Nevermore became warmer and kinder. It seemed inevitable the two would fall in love with one another. But no matter what, Poe refused to budge on the subject of killing- while he would perform the role of stealth and information gathering with extreme skill, he would refuse to go all the way with the kill. Nevermore, whose heart had opened up, was still okay with the idea, but it made her uncomfortable.

They were tested in an assessment when they were assigned to kill a squad of bandits causing trouble in Dragonhome. They flew in to infiltrate the camp, but their teachers had set a trap to truly test them- the bandits were aware of their arrival. Shocked at the betrayal, Poe and Nevermore had no choice but to fight their way out, putting all of their skills to the test. Unfortunately, it was not that easy, and when Nevermore accidentally left her guard open, Poe had to intervene. He had done the one thing he had not wanted to- he killed the dragon.

Shocked and horrified by his action, Poe didn't notice when another dragon snuck behind him to avenge the fallen leader of the bandits. Nevermore, who regained composure, quickly finished off the other dragon. As the dragon's eyes slowly lost their light, she felt a cold fear creep down her spine. She found that the art of killing was wrong- everything she had been trained for and believed in was wrong in her mind. As Poe and Nevermore flew away, they vowed to avoid killing for the rest of their lives.

Flying across the world, they decided to make a living as spies. Eventually, they were commissioned by a Ridgeback named Shredder to spy on a Clan known as Azeryx. While they were on their mission, the young spies happened upon a young Ridgeback training alone in the snow. Observing the dark dragon, they continued to follow him, showing a certain interest in the way he carried himself, hoping he would lead them to Azeryx. When Zeryx turned around, he managed to catch sight of the black spies among the white snow. Curious, Zeryx asked about them. The spies, deciding to maintain cover, engaged Zeryx in conversation.

The spies learned of Zeryx's life, and in turn, the Azeryx Clan. But the information they found about Azeryx was touching- a Clan that wanted peace instead of conquest of killing. In addition, Zeryx warned them about a nasty Ridgeback known as Shredder lurking around- his father. The display of innocence and kindness Zeryx showed was enough to convince the Skydancers to abandon Shredder. They flew Zeryx back to the Clan and told Hallow that Shredder had hired them to spy. Hallow was stunned and angrily scolded Zeryx, but the spies defended the young Ridgeback. They took Hallow aside and told him everything that Zeryx had told them. Touched by the young Ridgeback's innocence, Poe and Nevermore asked if they could protect him from his father. Hallow refused, but Zeryx stepped up and told Hallow he'd accept them either way. Zeryx explained the spies' story, and made Hallow a deal- if the spies betrayed them, he would give up his position as a future leader. Hallow, with advice from Eve and Aka, reluctantly accepted.

The spies have forever been loyal to Zeryx ever since, and have vowed to defend him just as he defended them. Their loyalty has never wavered since, and to this day, they have never had to kill again.

"They glide through the night, they rarely talk to others, and they move in sync with each other. It's so creepy." -Angel

"I'll admit it- having them around is both really cool and extremely useful." -Zeryx

"Swift and silent- that is the way of the spy." -Nevermore
