These dragons have a short 50 year lifespan and are born shortly after a fireball dragon dies. Dragons that were once fireballs are now called Lazarus as they have risen from the dead. They call home in a territory as close as possible to the asthenosphere. Some of the most curious and brave ones live nowadays on the surface. They can be quite social, although they meet others of their species only to mate. Their tough armor like body can withstand tremendous pressure with no problem and as such are often hired are mercenaries or arena fighters from nearby clans who happen to spot them. They can hibernate for up to half a year if they are low on energy. The most picky ones only eat metals and diamonds when in reality they also are able to stay alive by eating bones and seashells. The most vicious or unlucky ones act like vultures creating well camouflaged pits, ambusing strangers and feasting on unfortunate passengers. This fact has created an ongoing civil war between the mercenaries and bounty hunters of their species who united to hunt them down (calling themselves "Royal black") and the others, the fallen ones who they called "Ebony beasts". They love to drink and they are extremely slow for their weight. In aerial fights they lock their target, fly at high speed at them and curl into a ball at last second. These flying cannonballs, if they succeed in attacking another dragon, do lethal damage to serious injuries at best so few dragons dare to challenge them in the air. They are very easy to spot at night when above the surface which makes them easy to avoid.
