Amber has never been a stranger to abandonment. Her father left Amber’s mother, Abyss, to raise her two surviving daughters alone, and quickly found a new family to replace them. After Abyss passed away, Amber was left alone with her littermate, Eira, to survive as poor, homeless dragonets.

Eira was beautiful and soon caught the eye of clan darling, Pear. She tried to stay close with Amber, but their relationship broke apart. Amber did her best to find her own mate and start a family, but failed and everything broke apart once alone. So, Amber ran away. She spent months living in the ice Flight where she became a master of ice magic and survival. When she returned, she found that she had done the same thing her own father had done to her, and her daughter, Gante, hated her for it.

Gante became a mechanic, technician, and assassin for Cherry’s army, and spread rumors about her mother, causing guardsmen to be on edge around her. Terrified, Amber fell into the midst of the rebellion, and was recruited to be the guard of Olive, Brush and Hood’s only surviving child. With Brush always busy, Amber became a surrogate mother for Olive, and swore to protect her.
