Biography
True Familiar: Swift Lumen
--
Chandris is a scholar of the clan, and is the dragon to go to if you want to know history, stories, or rituals old and new. She also keeps tabs on the progress of the clan as a whole while keeping it together with her knowledge.
She also loves jewelry. There was one incident when she was accessorizing with the clan wardrobe, seeing what fit and what didn't. As she was trying things on, a glint of golden light from a set of Sunchaser Jewelry caught her eye, and she attempted to try it on. The orb necklace was trivial to take on and off, but the pearl meant for the head proved a huge problem. Her horn kept getting in the way, and she struggled to find a way to put it on around the horn while still making it look good. Then she accidentally pushed down too hard, and her horn completely impaled the jewel. It mercifully didn't break all the way, and it fit itself nicely on her horn, and managed to stay on her head and complement the rest of her.
Her mate Roukan then came home and saw what she had done. While he admitted the jewelry looked good on her, he was shocked to see what had happened to the head jewel. That night, he decided to help her get the jewelry off for the night. Chandris agreed, only to find that the head jewel was stuck onto her horn. Roukan attempted to help her, but they discovered that the only way to remove the jewel from her head would be to break it. This horrified Chandris, and neither of them were interested in breaking priceless jewelry. They went to a clan mage as one last chance to help. Said clan mage did attempt to help (after having a laugh at their expense), but was not able to find a way to remove it safely.
Roukan looked ready to break the gem, but Chandris stopped him, assuring him that it was alright. If the clan leaders did not mind her wearing the jewelry, then she didn't mind wearing it on her head at all times. After all, she still liked how it looked on her, and never really wanted it off in the first place. So while it took getting used to, Chandris and the rest of the clan eventually accepted the head jewel as just another part of her body.
Maybe one day, a dragon will discover how to get the sunchaser jewelry off without consequences. But even if they did, Chandris may not let them try it.
Chandris quickly began leading the evacuations into the safer parts of the clan before following herself. She took what lorebooks she could carry with her and since then has been studying deeply on the nature of Emperor dragons. She knows there are plans to fight the Emperor dragon, or if nothing else, they may be forced to. And she knows that the only way to possibly win is to understand its nature.
But she also deeply misses the comforts of home and hopes that everything will blow over soon.
Chandris is surprised by her mate's newfound changes in aesthetics, presentation, and self. But not unhappily so! For she sees how excited and how much happier her mate is. She knows how much her mate was quiet and reticent about clothes, despite being willing to help with Chandris' wardrobe. She realized in hindsight that she should have known all along.
In any case, she's ecstatic that her mate is happy, and they're having a lot of fun trying on clothes and outfits together, and they're just being wonderful to each other.
