Biography
A ravenous conjoining of Fire and Plague denizens, these harbingers of death leave only terror in their wake. No malice is known to dragon-kind that rivals their bloodthirsty desires. The Dust Harpies are known to guard their nests seated in the mountain ranges of the Ashfall Waste and the Scarred Wasteland, feeding any passerby, be it dragon or beast, to their young.
It is said that these creatures first appeared in the wake of a horrendous plague. The sickness started in the Scarred Wasteland, before being carried, by travelers and merchants, into the Ashfall waste, where, in the warm climate and crowded, industrial cities, it flourished.
The disease was a rot of the body and mind. While dragon flesh melted from bone, the victims became disoriented and animalistic. Not zombified, for they could still think for themselves, but their sense of reality became warped and they could no longer recognize friend from foe. For the safety of their loved-ones, these poor dragons were sent to the desolate reaches of their flights, to live out the rest of their painful days.
As with all plague-bound dragons, however, the strong will hurdle the weak.
In time, the survivors of this plague colonized these harsh lands, preying on anything that moved. They became tribal, reclusive, and violent as a means to overcome. To this day, dragons across Sornieth know, and fear, their viciousness.
