 I had loved and lost, and now... Love had found me again, brought me back to life in the land of the dead. |
ALARIC Alaric is an ancient regal name and was a common name for the kings of the Ostrogoths. Just like his name implies Alaric is a born ruler and not your usual king but the ruler of the Underworld. He is stuck in a perpetual cycle of reincarnation and everytime his soul wanders it doesn’t for long. He dies once 2000 years have passed and reincarnates after a few years on the night of Halloween. He spent 18 years wandering the Earth and watching other dragons live their mundane lives. He’s searching for his soulmate that has been lost for over 36000 years now. He had no luck so far even though his search went on for another 18 years. This Halloween on 31 October 2018 his soul was trapped again in his ragged body, his skin is torn apart in places and just sagging, showing his bones that are moved by sheer power and his strong spirit. His body is decaying even more which each reincarnation. Even though the time spent on Earth wears his body down and makes more and more uninhabitable he still does it, he keeps on searching for his pair. Each Halloween when the balance between the dead and the living is broken his soul is being drawn to the Underworld, it takes a lot of excruciating pain and willpower to resist being dragged back into his body. With each reincarnation he managed to stay one year longer on Earth which means that next time he would be able to stay for 19 years. His job is to guide lost soul to their rightful place, to lead them to the land mother and recycle them into reincarnation. His job is essential so that’s why his presence is required at all times and he’s forbidden to leave the Underworld for more than one year. He was allowed to leave for only one year and wander the Earth until the next Halloween. When he’s gone the lost souls are trapped inside his body and their reincarnation is delayed until he comes back to the Underworld. |
