Nordwunder

For some the Southern Icefield is an inhospitable land to be avoided, for others a fickle home that is harsh but can be endured, but for Nordwunder it is a place of magic. Though not born there, Nordwunder travelled once to that land and fell deeply in love with it. There is beauty, he says, in its silence and stillness. It is a place where one can be at peace and cast aside all worldly desires and thoughts. Hunkered down against the frost you are free to traverse the emptiness of your mind reflected by the emptiness all around you. It is perhaps an unusual perspective, but it is the philosophy he lives by, forever with a blank, but peaceful look on his face. Why, then, is he here, and not in this land he supposedly loves? He is not forthcoming with the answer to this question, but many suspect that it has something to do with the reason he and Fantine avoid all eye contact with each other.
