 Belita had been chosen as his maid. She masked her disgust with a timid smile, bowing her head in perfect submission. He saw nothing but devotion in her eyes, even allowing her the dubious honour of entering his most private chambers to clean under his supervision. Things became more difficult once he found himself tempted by her presence, but she told him with a mischievous smile that their duties to Skoll came above all else. She was thankful he believed it. Every day, he dropped his guard just a little more around her. The knife she kept hidden beneath her heavy jewelry was itching to put an end to his schemes, if only he would turn his back - and she knew she would not hesitate. She had spent so many years searching for the book of Skoll - one wildclaw would pose no threat to her mission to destroy it once and for all.
