Nekane

Nekane is a sly and quick-winged dragon. She fights with swiftness, getting in more hits than her opponent and hoping to take them down before they even touch her. Outside of battle, Nekane tends to be quiet and reserved. Don't be mistaken, however. She is always watching, observing, and she has a very good memory for details.

It may be hard to strike up a friendship with Nekane, but she loves fiercely and loyally, and will keep you close to her heart if you take the time to get to know her.

She likes sweets, taking naps during storms, and cuddling up with Ahlad.

When she was young, Nekane belonged to a different clan. It was a place of strict rules and castes. Nekane was born to be a hunter, a servant, and was not allowed to deviate from that role. However, deep inside she yearned for more. She wanted to protect others, she wanted to live her life on her own terms. So deeply did she want that, she decided to disguise herself and sneak into the warriors training. For a while Nekane was satisfied, learning how to fight while hiding behind a mask and staying in the back.

One day, while out hunting in the woods, Nekane stumbled across an umberhorn qiriq stuck in a trap. Without a second thought, Nekane rescued it and secreted it back to the clan. She nursed it back to health and during that time the umberhorn grew attached to her. Even when it was completely healed, it refused to leave her side, and Nekane found she didn't want it to leave either. So she brought the umberhorn to the leaders of her clan and revealed herself as a warrior-in-training, asking for the umberhorn to be her personal familiar.

Nekane was sentenced to death, as was the umberhorn, for breaking the rules and daring to tread outside of her caste. So she fled, leaving behind her home and clan, with the umberhorn in tow.

For years Nekane fought and survived on her own... until she met Ahlad. Together, they decided to start an entirely new clan. A place for outcasts, a place where anyone could live how they wanted to live.

No matter who a dragon was, they would be accepted in this clan. So Nakane and Ahlad built their clan and their family, and have been slowly gathering other dragons who found themselves on their own.
