Leon

Created by Zadkiel, and offered the chance to leave when he was old enough to understand - Leon chose to stay, and when Zadkiel told him he'd be the master of his own fate no matter what he chose in the moment ..he took this to heart.

He learned so that he could help Zadkiel work.
And found a supportive friend in the process. One whose pride, asked one night when Zadkiel was dozing fitfully, came from two sources. He was proud that Leon could live without pain, that he hadn't made mistakes during Leon's creation ...and he was proud, as a friend, excited for what Leon was excited for - proud of Leon doing what made Leon happy.

Leon learned more, ever more - consuming knowledge with a voraciousness that matched Zadkiel's - aided by Zadkiel telling him that he could access the library however he desired. Zadkiel asked precious little of him - and was otherwise a willing subject for Leon's own learnings. letting his body be warped both successfully and unsuccessfully - providing detailed feedback and brainstorming with the bandersnatch.
