The only Fire blacksmith in an Engineering Division full of Lightning scientists, Eris is frequently frustrated by the manic tendencies of her peers. The act of creation takes time, care, and patience - and by the end of a workday Eris is out of all three, so woe betide anyone who gets in the way of her fiery temper afterwards.

Despite this, Eris is grateful to Beta's engineers for giving her a place to stay and continue her work in safety. Once a fighter in Por's Magmablood Rebellion, her cell was destroyed after an ambush by the mercenary hires of the Grand Circle of Forgemasters. Compromised, she escaped to the Sea of a Thousand currents, and in her weakened state found herself drawn to the Fire experiments of Mielikki and Rousse. Recognizing the blacksmith's talent, Beta quickly enlisted Eris into their fold. She agreed, under one condition: she would still be permitted to supply weapons and armor to the Magmablood faction. The Acquisition Division, always looking to forge new trade and military alliances, was more than happy to agree.

Eris misses her homeland, but she knows that she can do more for her people in Beta than she could by returning to the Ashfall Wastes - without the rest of her rebel cell, anyway. Still, on bad days she finds it helps to visualize her anvil as her former Forgemaster. She feels a little better with every strike of her hammer...
