Lady of the Golden Claws

She cannot hear, see, or speak evil.
Lady Xiris is deaf, blind, and mute. She was the first that Ozric took under his wing when he found her hidden and cowering beneath the earth in a deep, dark cave. Her pelt was matted and damp with blood, she could not survive the Abyss, and whatever mother had given her life had not given her crippled child the mercy of a swift and painless death. The denizens of the Abyss are not known for their compassion or empathy, and yet, something within the cold, empty chest cavity of the Lord influenced him to pull her from that dark place into his light.
Communication was established shortly after the young lady attacked Ozric with a mental force with such intensity that he was shaken. Thrown off guard, she had nearly escaped his claws. At that moment, he realized her potential was much greater than originally assessed by far. He captured her, soothed her despite the jagged scratches and angry wounds her claws inflicted. They could speak through disjointed thoughts and feelings when she reached out to speak with him telepathically. His promise to her was that of safety, perhaps more. This promise has never been uttered aloud, and it is intimately secret between them.
Xiris was gifted a book with blank pages, writing utensils, and a servant to work through. Ozric asked her to document the legacy of the Golden Claws and to share his word with the minds of other beings through thought and literature.
