Due to her calm temperament and practical approach to problems, Zaraza was chosen as the Plague representative from an young age. She's a natural peace-keeper, being known to stop fights between anyone and everyone, and is very stubborn once she makes up her mind.
She has a condition known as The Magpie’s Curse. Although not really a curse, it is viewed as one by superstitious dragons. It causes the tissue around the face to decay and fall off, and for feathers to grow in place of scales around the neck. It is not contagious or deadly, but it is a fairly debilitating disease; it causes sight, hearing, smell, and taste to weaken, and sufferers are more likely to contract infections.
Despite her condition, Zaraza is quite happy in her home. Her best friend is Sombra, and her favorite collection assignment is hunting.
Зараза means infection in Russian.
