Biography

Snapshot: Purpose falls on his intentions like a comet, committing himself with a sort of utter and sublime zeal that proves not just intimidating but outright alienating to many. Effortlessly beautiful, Purpose speaks in a resonant voice that somehow sounds as if it’s coming from a distance, and while contemplative and very well traveled and very well educated -- he has little real patience.

Often physically still, his mind is rarely at rest, often working at one problem or another and finding ways to apply himself. Lord of the clan’s Constellation Knights, Purpose sits on the Council and takes to his duties fiercely.

Background: There was a hatchling once, on the wide tundra. He was brave and stupid and eager, and when a star fell he rushed to meet it all gangly limbs and stuttering flight.

Without a thought other than the knowledge that he wanted to shine just as the star shone, he devoured it, tearing into the burning of it, into the light of it. And he let his star burn through him, burnishing his scales.

It opened his mind and exposed him to a great many things, and he grew up quickly with the star burning through him, burning with him. Maturing into a powerful combatant, he strove to know more of the limitless knowledge beneath the stars, trapped and preserved in the ice.

When he got the chance, he collected other dragons similarly influenced by, blessed, or cursed, by the stars -- particularly those claiming them as something beyond the ethereal realm of the Arcane. He assembled them into an order of scholar-warriors, of knights errant, calling themselves the Constellation Knights.

For some years he and the first members of his order traveled across the world combating various crusades, educating themselves, gathering knowledge, until they returned to the Ice. Their numbers were devastated after a climactic battle with a nascent Emperor near the Frostfound’s lair, which lead Purpose to the clan itself as his remaining forces landed on its slopes.

After some discussion with the clan’s council and a promise to share the power and knowledge he and his fellow knights held, they were invited into the clan itself, finally giving the knights a base of operations from which to field themselves against one of the many threats they’ve rallied against.

In this case, something the clan has also begun to rally against -- the erosion of the Icefields.

Relationships: Purpose’s most meaningful relationships are with his knights, besides this he’s been quite friendly with Filionel and has in fact formed a strange sort of friendship with Devise, mostly built around incredibly violent sparring matches.

Daily Life: Purpose’s daily life tends to revolve around integrating the knights, and several hundred years worth of tradition, into the clan -- merging their divergent faiths. Recently he’s begun the process of opening up his order of knights to any member of the clan.

Goals: Protect Sornieth from various threats, help the Frostfound grow strong, rebuild and strengthen the Constellation Knights.
