Biography
As an experienced mother, Lordra prided herself in how well she cared for her eggs and past hatchlings. Her most recent nest had gone off without a hitch and she knew that there was only a few hours until her two eggs started to hatch. Both eggs appeared to be in excellent shape, save for one the eggs being a little bit smaller. This was of course, nothing to worry about for the proud Imperial.
Lordra awoke from her sleep from the weak yipping of a newborn hatching. The larger of the two eggs had, unsurprisingly, hatched first, revealing a healthy girl who promptly fell asleep after the exhausting task of breaking the eggshell. This left the smaller egg on its lonesome. She believed completely in her heart that this baby would come out within the next hour.
Minutes turned to hours as the mother started to seriously worry about her second child. She could still hear the babies heartbeat through the shell but it was off somehow. As she pulled her head away from the egg, a roar shattered across the land.
Her eyes shot to the sky just in time to see a long shadow sweeping across the skyline. The ground seemed to quiver as the massive Arcanist beat his wings. Every stroke of his many wings created loud booms, echoing across the land. The Arcanist paused as he noticed the mother, standing over her newborn and egg. Lordra noticed a strange expression on the intimidating face of the deity.
The Arcanist’s mouth opened as he spoke something incomprehensible to her. Suddenly, a pink glow began to emit from her remaining egg. It began to rock gently back and forth after lacking any living signs for the past hour. Looking back up at Arcanist, she was given a small nod. With a mighty roar, he shot into the sky, higher than the clouds and out of sight.
The roar appeared to have triggered a reaction in her egg as a crack began to splinter down the center. Out of concern, Lordra nuzzled it open to reveal a beautiful baby. It wasn’t until the baby began to open her eyes that she noticed anything else out of the ordinary. As the hatchling opened her eyes, her mother gasped. Not just two, but twenty two eyes opened all the way down her spine!
...
It took Lordra a few days to adjust to having such a different child, but she knew in her heart that this hatchling would be something special. No deity or beast could stop her destiny.
