Rock

Dripping water, an echo of breath, the scratching of a singular, curling long claw, marking yet another line into a branch already littered with them.
I have been here longer than any dragon has ever known of my existence, always watching. The echo of a murderer's footsteps, the whispers of a broken-hearted mother, the mournful song of the child missing their family.
Alive? No.. but not dead.
I have seen your children, and their children's children. Seen your birth and death before either have happened, the omens of those who came after me. Predicting the fates of prophets themselves yet powerless to stop them. Blind, and yet I see everything that has ever happened here.

Out of the corner of your eye, what is that? That strange dragon, just there, who was that? You wave it off as part of your imagination. This labyrinth of caves gets dark deeper down. You continue on your torrential path. Dark, darker, yet darker.
You don't hear it.. but I do. The pounding of rain against the surface, like the drums of death. You instead feel it soon after, lapping at your feet, and begin to panic.
I cannot save you. I'm sorry.
There are shrieks for help as water begins to rush, faster and faster. It will be over soon, I have seen your end many times. It violently knocks you against cold stone, and instantly the fight is over.
The last things you ever see are my sightless, bulging eyes, reflecting a thousand stars you will never see again. And just like that, the world washes away.
I am all-seeing, all-hearing, all-knowing.
