Biography

VITRA - Luck Witch

Apatite Falconclaw Warrior Glittering Bluesilver Torc

The wise dragon does not challenge Vitra to games of chance. Of course, to become a wise dragon, one must have already made this mistake, and so Vitra rarely runs out of marks.

It's unclear, the source of her good luck. Hand her a deck of cards, or a dish full of dice, and more often than not, the odds favor her almost lovingly. If there were a deity whose realm was chance, she would be their prime devotee, the apple of their eye. No one else wins games of luck so frequently, and certainly no one else dodges loss so deftly.

But there is no deity presiding over wagers made with cards in hand. There is only Vitra and her uncanny sense for finding victory ahead. Like any good magician, she refuses to reveal her secrets. Even if she promises a hint, with her talent for distraction, no one ever really gets what they asked for. She can steal the show in the same breath that she buries any notion that she has secrets at all, and her victims only remember when it's far too late to confront her about it.

Naturally, this makes her a less than popular figure wherever she goes. Luck only lasts so longer, no matter the wielder, and eventually, folks begin to feel cheated. At that point, it's best to skip town for greener, more gullible pastures.

So far, the Moon Siren Coven hasn't sent Vitra packing yet. Maybe it has something to do with the lack of chance games that they play. Riddles are far more popular with the local witches, and finding a set of dice has proven challenging, to the point that Vitra has whittled her own set just to stay busy. All things considered, she should have left in search of fresh excitement long ago.

But there's something unusual about the coven, something that has her clinging to its outskirts, testing the waters. She can't seem to figure out just what it is, but every inch of her screams that she ought to stay, no matter what it takes, no matter how much luck that requires. At least she knows that, whatever happens, it will go well for her. What hasn't so far? Between her wits and her charm, she barely needs the magic others suspect her of having, magic she refuses to confirm or deny.

The fate awaiting the Moon Siren Coven will not keep her down, not when there's every chance it's going to lift her to even greater heights. And if she has to survive a card game dry spell to see it through, then so be it. It just means she's saving all of her luck for when it counts the most, right?
