Biography

In the darkest caverns of the Windhover clan, down below the machines and the living quarters and the glittering hoards, Erebus lurks. All most of the dragons ever see of him is a flash of white underbelly as he darts through the shadows, whispering to himself.

Those who venture down in the deep passageways usually return somewhat shaken. It's clear that, by dint of hard digging, Erebus has expanded the tunnels substantially. Vast new rooms and pitch-black halls now stretch outwards through solid rock––all of them echoing with the unseen dragon's faint hisses and mutters, and the clatter of the bones that hang from his wings.

Just because Erebus isolates himself, however, does not mean he doesn't influence the Windhover clan's research. Any familiars or Beastfolk who wander into the deep usually emerge days later, missing limbs and anemic... but also with "beneficial" alterations: clever prosthetic limbs, neural implants that increase or alter their intelligence, dermal plating, and the like. Erebus, the Windhovers whisper, can cure any ailment... but the cure is sometimes worse than the disease.

Erebus' rumored powers have also attracted a few ambitious dragons to his side. Nyx, IceWarden, Charon--these, and others, make up the Acolytes of Erebus. Easily identified by the bangles pierced through their wings, they quietly serve Erebus' dark will, both in the caverns and in the world above.

Exalting Erebus to the service of the Stormcatcher will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
