Eris arrived at Stillsandur late one night, disheveled and half-frozen, and came to rest under Quara's concerned watch more out of pure exhaustion than choice. She'd never intended to stay longer than it took to recover her strength, but Stillsandur's unique position as a sort of multi-cultural hub on the outskirts of civilization made it an unexpectedly adequate place for Eris to settle into relative comfort and begin her clandestine research.

She came accompanied by a living construct she calls Strela, a life-sized mirror that crackles and hums with a modified power source that seems to have married magic ability with electrical ingenuity. Some might call it a work of genius -- others, an abomination. Eris refuses to speak on the matter, quickly becoming irate and defensive when curious hatchlings begin asking too many questions. Whatever Strela may be, it's clear to anyone that Eris sees her as either extremely valuable or extremely important. Her reasons both for this and for her apparent abandonment of electrical engineering as a viable avenue of study, however, are shrouded in mystery.
