Alarka Lunaya, the Dictator
Alignment: Clan Shadestar (leader)
"You don't need to be good to be a hero."

In the beginning, the Windsinger was creating his eggs, his children throughout the land. He would make a swirling ball of energy and encase it in a hard shell, then place it down on the Windswept Plateau. When he was creating Alarka's egg, a bit of Shade got into it before the shell could harden. Arcanist, who was watching nearby, said:

"Brother, that is a bad egg. It will hatch into a dark, twisted creature. I advise you to kill it."

"No." said the Windsinger. I will not kill one of my children."

The Arcanist went forward to examine the egg. One of the green swirls on the egg was not it;s usual colour, it was Shade black. He pointed it out, and said:

"Brother, that is the mark of the Shade. You must kill the egg, or there will be chaos in your your peaceful land."

"No. I will not kill one of my children."

Then the Arcanist dove for the egg, attempting to destroy it. Windsinger curled protectively around it.

"Begone, brother, from my land. You tried to kill one of my children, and that will not be forgotten."

Arcanist spread his wings and flew off to his own land, but not before yelling:

"There will be chaos in your peaceful domain. I warned you. Remember my words. Remember~" Then his voice was lost on the wind.

______ Many years later, in a dark cave, a small egg lies. The dragon inside is ready to hatch. She chips away at the shell of the egg, seeking her freedom.

"AT LAST. FREEDOM." She says, as she spreads her blue wings.

The Arcanist was right. The dragoness was a mutant, she had cruel, sharp claws, batlike fangs, and curved dark gray horns.

______ The dragoness founds her own small clan among the reeds of the Steppe. It is calm for a while, but one day, the Shade inside her erupts. She kills most of the clan, including her own mate. Those who remain flee quickly to escape Alarka's Shade-induced wrath.

After this, she begins to attack other clans. Tendrils of living shadow pluck hatchlings out of their nests. Gaping maws of darkness tear wounds in dragons and devour eggs. The once peaceful Windswept Plateau becomes a war zone.

______ The Shadowbinder flies over the Windswept Plateau, surprised to see not calm, peaceful land, but death and shadows. She descended to see what was the cause of all this chaos.

"Remember. You did not listen, and now you pay."

"DESTROY. KILL."

Shadowbinder knew the first voice, that of her brother Arcanist, but she didn't recognize the second.

"REVENGE."

Shadowbinder searched for the sound of the voice, and when she found it, she was very surprised. A fae, with curved horns and blood running down her face, sitting on a throne of bones. She had a creepy grin on her face, satisfied with what she had wrought.

"SUBMIT."

Pink fire started raining down onto her.

"TAKE ME TO THE LAND OF MY DREAMS. WHERE EVIL REIGNS AND FEAR RUNS RAMPANT."

Shadowbinder knew what to do. She scooped up the little dragon before the Arcanist could kill her, and carried her off to the Tangled Wood.

Several years later...

Alarka overcomes the shade, bending it to her will and reclaiming her sanity. I'm too lazy to write about that now though lol
