Biography

The Firstborn - The two oldest dragons who bare the sacred digits of 20 and 21. Noxus and Fray reside within an Ancient Arcane Lair. For eons the clan has quietly existed, far away in seclusion, preferring to keep to their own way of life. The children of the Firstborn carry ancient blood and old traditions but they were very few and far between until the clan decided to once more step forth, to open their doors and reveal their presence to a world that they had, for so long, forsaken. Now, each child of the Firstborn is given the opportunity to leave their ancient lair, to join others and share their old wisdom and traditions and to carry the name and teachings of the Firstborn. Athena was one of the first.

Likes & Dislikes

She likes tests of strength and cunning, her oldest blood-sister Nightshade, draping her wings in a way that imitates a golden mantle and how her pink plates are semi transparent when catching the light. Hunting, scavenging and training are some of her favorite pastimes. Her favorite food is fish.
She dislikes cheaters, fakes and those who are unjustifiably proud. Sour fruit and bitter herbs, being beaten or outsmarted. And the nature realm, though few know the reasons behind this resentment.

Storyline

Athena was the only female of her brood, growing alongside two strong but mostly subdued brothers. With a quick witted intellect and strong independent personality, Athena grew to become proud and competitive.

Her every moment was focused on training and she developed an insatiable desire to improve herself, to rise through the ranks of her clan and to stand proud amongst those at its head, she was, after all, the daughter of the Firstborn. Every hunt and scavenge, every training session held within the ancient lair of her clan, she would be the first, ready and waiting to participate and contribute with the hopes of one day becoming one of the Colosseum fighters. One day however, another opportunity presented itself.

Athena and her brothers were given the opportunity to leave the clan. Only one other Child of the Firstborn had left before her, a sister named Narcosi who had fought and perished in the old wars choosing to side with a nature clan in the early era of conflict that claimed so many lives and so many numbers...

She would bare the name and crest of her clan and become a representative of her parents, the oldest dragons, the true ancients, the Firstborn... she could think of no higher honor.

Since Athena's arrival in Sanctuary, she had indeed become an esteemed member of the clan Sentry. Eirlys and Bride helped her get used to the overall routine. However, there was one individual in particular that Athena had a hard time parting from during her period of adjustment.

Nadia was the one to take the lead in regards to her training, as promised by Eirlys on the day she first heard of Clan Sanctuary and left her birth clan. Under Nadia's guidance, Athena's competitive nature truly flourished. Days were spent on training excursions, fighting in the Coliseum, and bringing home goods for the dragons residing within the walled, safe, forest village that she called home. Athena knew in her heart that she could not have been happier.

And yet there was a part of her that yearned for more. Something that lay far beyond the walls of Sanctuary, something only she could discover for herself.
And so, one early morning, she set off into the unknown, leaving just a letter for Nadia to read, explaining that she would be back in due time.

She traveled for what seemed to be an eternity until she found herself surrounded by strange metal spires, shifting desert sands, and crashing thunderstorms above. Something stirred within Athena's soul. Yes, she thought to herself. This is what I have been yearning for.

She began finding ways to reach out, with her inherent arcane energies, and learn to harness the very essence of the lightning that filled the heavens above. Of course, it was not easy at first. Finding ways to manipulate pure electric currents and bend it to ones will lead to burns and shocks if one is not used to it beforehand. Athena, however, improvised. If her body would not handle the electric currents as she was now, then she would prevent that from occurring in the first place.

Weeks later, she had done it. She enlisted the assistance of a nearby clan of Lightning dragons, who were more than happy to tinker away on how to make a dragon impervious to a lightning strike. Eventually, through trial and error, her dream had been fulfilled at last. Athena's scales now surged with blue flashes of electricity, with various metal implements bound to her body, continuously rerouting the current in a way that it would not harm her. Now.. how to explain this to Sanctuary?
