Biography

Darkness. Cold, bitter darkness. That's what the small Skydancer awoke to when he finally gained his senses. There was a flickering light nearby that the hatchling teetered towards carefully. Unaware of the concept of dangers, he continued until he reached the light.

Attached to the light was a torch, and attached to the torch, a massive hulking Imperial. The deep reds of the Imperial frightened the hatchling but piqued his curiosity. The Imperial did not, or rather chose not, to notice the hatchling. He kept moving and so did the little one, following the flame for warmth and sight.

What the hatchling did not know, however, was the dangers of Sangria. Sangria is infamous for hunting and killing other dragons in the name of his God, Divine, but this hatchling does not even understand the concept of any of that. He just wants a home. He trailed after the Imperial, almost struggling to keep up, and when he faltered, it appeared that Sangria waited.

At one point, he toppled over, exhausted, and the Imperial stopped, considered for a moment the situation, and pulled the poor Skydancer up onto his back. When they arrived home, there was no way that people wouldn't see the dark inky hatchling on Sangria's bright red scales.

Sunrise, in an uncharacteristically brave move, stepped towards Sangria. The dragons of the Skullstar Asylum held their breaths. She looked up at the massive Imperial and pointed to the hatchling. He knelt down so she could reach him. The Coatl was surprised but did not let that hinder her from grabbing the Skydancer.

Instead of answering the clan's questions of why he brought home the hatchling and where he found him, Sangria placed one paw on the hatchling's back and spoke.

"You will be Crovil, young one."

And with that, he was gone, disappearing again into the depths of his cave, and Sunrise was left with the little Skydancer, Crovil. No one would argue that the name didn't fit him.
