Biography
Dragonsnest’s dragon
''We've got to go. This one's not gonna hatch.''
She was the last egg in her lot. All three of her sisters and brothers were moving in their eggs, trying to break the shell open, but her egg was quiet. Her father carefully nudged her egg, hoping to hear something, anything from this baby. She didn't make a sound. They were afraid that she was gone. A cloud of gloom surrounded the couple.
Days passed, every other hatchling was out of their eggs, but her egg remained quiet. It was about time that they had to leave the nest. With teary eyes, they left the unhatched egg alone. Her dad prayed to his God, the Arcanist, to bless this baby with life. While her mom prayed to her God, The Gladekeeper, to find her baby a home.
When she finally hatched, she didn't knew where she was. With her newborn legs, she stepped out of the remainings of her egg and looked around, hoping to see her parents. She could feel that something was wrong, and without an adult, she wouldn't survive for long. She let out a weak cry, hoping that someone will hear her.
After hours, someone had heard her. An older Mirror approached her, watching her with curious eyes. The Mirror looked around to see if anyone else was there, but it seemed like they were alone. ''Are ya lost, kiddie?'' she asked to the newborn. The hatchling nodded, stepping closer to the older. ''Mama?'' she asked softly. ''Oh no- I ain't yo mama.'' the Mirror shook her head. Taking care of hatchlings really wasn't a strong suit of hers. ''But I can take ya to Aerope, if ya wanna?'' She offered. She didn't know who Aerope was, but it sounded better than being out in the open, on her own. ''Les go then.'' the Mirror leaned down, montioning the hatcling to climb onto her. ''Hold tight, won'tcha?'' With that, she opened her wings, lying back to her clan's lair.
''So yeh. I found this bab 'lone 'nthe forest.'' Zebab said to the crowd that came over to see the new member of the clan. ''She looks so, so weak.'' A Wildclaw whispered to the Clan Leader that sat next to her. ''We can't just leave her!'' A Fae, Aerope, protested. ''I promise you, I'll raise her as my own.'' she said, looking up at her Clan Leader.
The Tundra stepped closer to the baby, who took a step back in fear of someone much bigger than her. Puffer sent her a warm smile. ''Welcome home, Malen.'' She said. ''Aerope here'' she montioned at the Fae. ''Will take care of you from now on.''
As the crowd went back to their own works, Aerope smiled gently at the younger. ''Let's get you some food and a place to sleep, my child.'' Malen chirped happily, following her new mom around.
