It was that loathing that pushed him to snarl and claw his way up as high as he could go. His brother never understood that, plain as he was, weak as he was. Maybe that's why he's still at the bottom, six feet under that, even.

And maybe that was why she left, fled with a fear for her life instilled within her by the same beast she'd brought into the world.

Yet she couldn't take it back. He was here now.

And when he found her, she would pay. Maybe the whole world would.
