Clan Profile

She loves her job, which she gets to enjoy with her familiar, named Bushi. She is the caretaker of the central, Nature representative tree, which is the holiest place in the entire clan. The tree must be kept safe at all times, and if it's not, the entire lair could come crashing down. This pressure doesn't weigh down on her however, since it's her favorite thing in the entire world. She also must take care of the plants and animals that live in or on the tree, as they are just as important in the magic of the lair. Having a crush on the one dragon in the lair she isn't allowed to go near, named Caph, is very difficult for Leaf. She always admires Caph's love for life, despite the horrible, racking coughs that always engulf the spiral. But since Caph's cough is contagious, especially to nature dragons, she must stay far away from the only dragon she has ever wanted to be with. She would do anything to be with the contaminated spiral, which could get her in trouble one day. Born with a strange ability to communicate with plants and animals, her powers have led to amazing relationships with life all over Sornieth. She was born of the Gladekeeper, and when released on her own, started a tour of the island. The little hatchling roamed far and wide, seeking a forever home, and a chance to feel loved. When she came across the Clan of the Falling Leaves, the great Nature tree, Naturae Folium, was seeming to wilt and die. The clan was in a state of panic, as without the central source of magic, the entire tree lair would come crashing down. She had come, and innocently healed the tree, using her communicating skills to figure out what was wrong and fix it. From then on, she has taken care of the tree, and appointed others with a similar gift to take care of each flight's tree. ________________________________________ |

She had been walking for hours and hours, and was near the brink of collapse. Still, she kept trekking through the forest, trying to find a place to rest. She knew the dangers of the forest at night, and jumped at every sound. Even her communication wouldn't save her from a hungry panther. Picking up the pace, the dragon continued, oblivious to all going on around her. On a normal night the imperial would be fascinated by all the life and colors in this section of the island, but tonight was not normal. Eventually coming across a clearing, she stopped to catch her breath, and then marvel a the scene around her. Eleven massive trees rose up, scraping the sky, and blocking out the moon with wooden platforms stretched between them. Smaller trees were dotted around the clearing, each one a different size, shape and color. Next to her was a small sapling, with the same color green as her and silvery stems coming down, almost as if it had lots of little whiskers. Held in it's small branches was a little book, with a dark green leather cover and a silver bookmark, with different silver tabs. There was a blooming pink flower on the front, and a small nature rune inside of the flower. Underneath, in more runes it spelled out her name, Leaf. Too weak to fly, she sat down next to the tree and began to read the journal, containing instructions. It told her that this was a journal she could use to send messages to others, and the entire clan. It would also serve as a regular journal to take notes in. It also explained the elemental trees, and her own tree which was modeled to look like her. However, as she read through the instructions, a small voice had crept into her mind, calling for help. At first she ignored it, but as it continued she started to worry. Nothing had ever communicated to her first, signalling that this was no ordinary animal. Stopping her reading, she gently closed her book and placed it back in the branches of the tree, and went towards the voice. It seemed to be coming from the large oak tree in the center, and it's calls grew louder and louder as she neared the tree. Eventually reaching the base, she curled up next to the roots of the tree, trying to hear what it had to say. "Hello Leaf. I am called Naturae Folium, and I need your help. It appears as if my power is decreasing, leaving this entire place in jeopardy. You are the only one capable of hearing me, and I need you to listen closely. I should start by explaining why I am losing my magic. You see, my great, ancient power comes from the belief in the deities. Similar to my sister, the Behemoth, I rely on the magic of belief to stay alive, and in turn keep nature throughout the world. But after the Tidelord's disappearance, dragons and others alike have started to question the magic of the great gods of this earth. Steadily, my magic has waned with this religion, and I need someone to help me. In each flight there is a sacred spot, or living thing. For the Water Flight there is the Spiral Keep. In Plague it is the The Wyrmwound. Each flight has these central areas of power. And each clan has something that mimics it, whether it's a tree here in Nature, or a small cave in the deepest depths of the clan in Water, they all provide elemental power to the clans. I am one of those such mimics so to speak, and my health is important to the lair's and clan's health. I need you, my dear Leaf, to spread awareness. I need my magic restored, for the good of the clan. Make a name for yourself in this community, and imprint these ideas into their minds. Recruit others with the gift, and of different flights, to take care of each of the other trees. Show the dragons that the deities exist, and the elements are important. Teach others to do the same, travelers and dragons staying forever, to get the news out. It is imperative for the good of my clan, and soon to be yours." With that, Leaf fell into a dreamless slumber, to prepare for the next day. She rose the next morning to the wonderful chirping of birds, and bright sun on her back. Yawning, she took flight into the early morning air, stretching out her wings in the process, before landing on the main deck of the suspended lair. The seasons seemed to change faster and faster as Leaf grew up. She met her familiar, Bushi, and developed relationships with those in the lair. She recruited 10 others to take care of the other trees, and the tree had thanked her, saying that the magic was restored, and the clan would go on as usual. Leaf knew that this was where she belonged, forever and until the end of time. ________________________________________ |
