Akenehi

He was found as an egg, abounded along side another. He grew up along side them, loving and caring for them like a brother. But their 'mother' was cruel. Manipulative, abusive, and cold. He didn't agree with what his mother would do, but deep down he believed that...maybe she was good. Maybe, he could change her mind. But instead, she gave him a choice. Do as she said, or she'll kill his brother.

Thats how he became her puppet, forcing a mask, a facade, to hide away the feelings of guilt, loathing and sorrow. As long as he could find peace with his brother at the end of the day, all was well...right?

Lucky for this ridgeback, his bother didn't think so. The Talonok did all he could to find someone, anyone, to help free him and his brother, along with everyone else. Because while everyone else saw a monster, he saw his brother, doing all that he could to keep them safe. A dragon that would cry himself to sleep every night. He would tend to the prisoners he had hurt, abused and wounded. He would feed them, and give them comfort, as if trying to atone for his brother's forced sins until he found a chance to leave and find their savior. Finding an opportunity while under his mother's claw though...was difficult. But when her 'charges' started to escape, and when some were 'stolen' from her, she sent the brothers out to find them and who was responsible. The Talonok took the chance.

He found the dragon who had freed many of the prisoners, and was pleased to see that many of the ones who had escaped at different times, had found themselves at the same clan, and had happier lives. He begged, and pleaded with her, to help them end it all, especially since the true leader was hunting her down, and would likely try to take the clan as a whole if she found her. His 'mother' needed to be stopped.

She accepted with little hesitation.

It was hard fought, especially since she was adamant about taking her alone, but in a turn of events that will stay with both brothers forever, and with the stubborn female as well, the whole clan had found out about the threat, about the cruelty of dragon who stole, tormented and enslaved innocent dragons, and banded together to take her down, and to protect each other and their family.

Almost as quickly as it started, it ended. Odette laid slain, at the claws of her own 'sons'. The shock of seeing her child lunge for her was all it took for a well place swipe of his claw to end her.

Akenehi knows that he will never be able to atone for all of the sins he has committed, but for now, the clan gives him a chance for redemption, and he will take it.

But there is any one he is most grateful to, it's his brother...and the dragon who swayed his heart in every way. The dragon who, for the first time since possibly ever, feel like, he could be a normal, that maybe, he wasn't a monster.

Now, you can hardly find Akenehi not by her side.
