Ruler

Ruler was always an odd one. It probably didn’t help that he was born into a clan of scholars and astronomers. The first signs of something being different with Ruler compared to his siblings was his coloring. All of his siblings had jewel toned colors, with iridescent tones, but Ruler, he was black with weird moss shades that had never appeared in his clan before. As a result, his clan rejected him, thinking that his egg may have been touched by Shade and snuck into the nest without anyone noticing.

Thus, Ruler spent much of his time alone, far away from the spires. He wanted to be as far away from his clan as possible, without being completely on his own.

As soon as Ruler became of age, he decided that it would be in his and the clan’s best interest if he decided to strike out on his own, clanless. He had never known acceptance from his clan, and strongly felt that no matter what he did, they would still ostracize him simply because he was too different. He started to travel the world, eventually ending up in the Viridian Labyrinth. There, he met other dragons in varying shades of green, who regarded him with curiosity. Ruler decided to explore the forest more thoroughly, slowly developing a liking for the plants and the life contained within. Eventually, he met the other druidic dragons that called the Labyrinth home, and spent time with them, learning more about how the forest were taken care of, and how to maintain the forest and allow it to thrive. The forest eventually became a place of refuge for him, and he spent his days amongst the trees and wildlife. Over time, he started to develop an affinity for the forest, and started caring for the different plants and wildlife that lived in the forest.

He lived in the forest for the next ten years, becoming more at home with the forest. By chance, he met another dragon from his homeland, a Fae dragon named Aene, who was also an odd sort of dragon, although Ruler was not aware of it at the meeting.
