A Spirit/beast of the RBMK-1000 Reactor #4 from the CNPP.

Reaktor is the beast, Reactor is the system itself
Probably one of the most happy from all operational reactors. The Reaktor is a being looking like a dragon or a kind of Lizard. Her body is plated with the plates taking forms of scales. Razor sharp spikes run down her spine and parts of fur are found on her head, end of tail and arms only. Her belly is filled with electricity and gives of a huge amount of heat, a transparant part is found on her chest and tail with stripes of her ''flesh'' growing over it, the effect was usually loved by the plant operators since 4 was the only one with this feature. Her operator and seen as owner was no other then the shift leader of block 4 Akimov, who treated her like she was a friend or pet

Reactor 4 was scheduled for a Routine Shutdown
During the Night of April 25 1986 Akimov let her out of the core for a small talk about a test they wanted to perform with her before the shutdown, a safety test about blackouts and how long the turbines would spin. Reaktors can keep their radiation levels inside by the way they are created which made it easy to keep connected with humans and other treatments, The ability was also given to avoid contamination while the Reaktors walk freely which they need once in a while.
Reaktor felt into a small episode of stress and panic, she was the youngest Reaktor and never ran a test before. Like a child that needs to go through their finals she felt uneasy and went outside to find a spot to relax and stare at the dark sky. Akimov followed her and sat next to her that everything will be alright, a simple test doesnt stop his ''strong and responsible Reaktor''. A same test was performed before with another reactor but the test failed due a huge drop in power from the turbine. Akimov told #4 will succeed what her follow reactors failed, thats its more the turbine needing to get the job done. After calming the Reaktor Akimov got ready to finish up and pass the operations to the next shift, who will run the test and shut her down... Reaktor headed back to her core after saying bye and planned to stay there until the test is done.

The dayshift started their preparations and got a phone call about a power outage asking if they can postphone the shutdown until the problem is solved. They agreed and the test was abandoned. Late in the evening they got the go to resume the shutdown but the night shift came around with a much different person in the lead then Akimov. A loud mouth, dedicated to perform the test and succeed with it for his own promotion. He wanted to get ready for it.
Reaktor didnt like him at first sight and clinged to Akimov, he laughed at how pathetic his Reaktor and people are bahaving, demanding some serious dedication to the test. How much power they will have when they succeed. #4 had to head back to the core and better not leave it when the test is done.

It was her last trip back, walked past the other workers without looking at them. Most workers looked at each other and where confused by it before heading back to their schedules and preparations. Starting with their first mission to decrease the power of the reactor by 50% went awry due operator mistakes and poisoning starting to happen which dropped the power more.
Reaktor didnt felt well and decided to leave the core again to sit on the floor in the reactor hall, a routine worker walked up to her to ask if she was doing alright. ''We need to prepare for the test, why are you sitting here?'' Reaktor gave him a depressing stare followed by dropping her head down to the ground. He felt uneasy about her reaction, dropped his work for a few and inform the chief, Akimov. Akimov came over and Reaktor automatically started to feel more happier and refused to show any signs of negativity. ''Reaktor...why are you out of the core? Dont stress girl we get through it'' Akimov sat down next to her holding his arm over her shoulder. Reaktor noded and stood up, getting ready to go back in her place. She took a feel steps and lost balance caused by what they say dizziness and fatigue. Reaktor wanted to drop herself on the ground but Akimov was there. She needed to refuse to show it and go back. Akimov noticed it and called for her, ''Is everything alright Reaktor? Are you feeling well?'' He asked silent but worried. Reaktor turned her head and gave him a tumb up before walking out of his sight, leaving him with a weird feeling of discomfort and worry.

Reaktor got back to her place, dropping herself on the ground and breath heavily. 10 minutes later she started to vomit and pass out for a while. The power decreased more and more at that moment messing with the preparations for the test. However they wanted the test done right here right now and decided to power her back up again. As the spirit of the reactor she went through and reacted to the whole poisoning, mistakes and design flaws. Reaktor woke and wanted to turn the whole system down but the people from the control room ignored. Akimov was the only one that spoke up to drop the test due dangerously low power level, he thought back at the moment in the reactor hall, something wasn't right and he might figured out why. He had a sad feeling coming toward him, Reaktor shouldn't hide anything from him ever. The man in charge took his argument down, saying that Reactors dont make mistakes, only humans do, pushing to fix decrease in power. Reaktor put a complete halt to power production, running at a low level makes the reactor unstable and the spirit sick by Xenon poisoning, This is the moment the control room was about to struggle against her, Akimov got yelled at to power her back up again, taking down the safety system and raise all the controll rods. Reaktor didnt understand why they still wanted to push her but had no choice to listen what is being ordered, already poisoned and not feeling well she tried to keep things under control but things started to heat up and some spots. The coolant was about to boil and produce void, bubbles and stream increasing the power output more then they wanted. The personel had their wish restoring the power but Reaktor kept screaming for the shutdown as more water continue to flash into stream increasing power ways beyond their wish, Akimov finally responded and triggered the SKALA to stop the reactor completely. Reaktor who tried to destroy the cool water flow pipelines to fight against the overheating sighed in relief. However as soon as she turned around the increase in heat and steam still continue. Manually trying to drag the control rods down by herself to put an end to this nightmare. The poisoning and overheating from the core made it hard for her to fight back but yet tried, power continued to increase as more and more steam was generated, fuel rods started to rapture and blocked the control rods from insertion. The graphite tips of the control rods that stalled not even halfway into the core only increased the amount of heat into the core.

Reaktor looked around her, slowly but calm. She let go of the control rod she was trying to push down. ''There is nothing i can do. Akimov, what did you do?'' The lids of the reactor core started to leap, the power output got 10 times more then it can handle. She know the worst is about to happen but there will never be enough time to warn everyone. Reaktor decided to get out and run to Akimov but that moment a steam explosion occured in some part of the channel system, Reaktor stared with eyes wide turning into shock, being unable to respond few seconds after the whole core started to explode all over the place... Reaktor took a full hit and got burried under the debris. The control room personel, Akimov included didnt believe it was the reactor that exploded, wanting to power her back up again. Reaktor, damaged for 80%, in a lot of pain trying to dig her way out of the debris looked around her, she was dripping a green glow from her body on almost every place. It was the blood of the reaktor, highly radioactive. Left leg and arm where completely broken and shattered inside due the hit on this one side, Right leg didnt got much of damage but right arm got severely injuried too which make it hard for her to move. For hours she tried to climb to the top and bumbed into some fire fighters who had no idea the area got so radioactive, their clothers where minimal because it was really hot up the roof. Reaktor tried to jump to them on her one leg to leave this place. At sight the fireman got shocked, their chief knew it was Akimovs reaktor and realized the whole situation, Another paniced and tried to blast her off with water screaming it is a monster. Reaktor rolled off the roof, trying to grab into things while falling down didnt help much. Reaktor took another hit on her left breaking more plating and bones. The fireman chief responded angry at his team member and ordered to get out of this place as soon as they can. On they way back down they started to feel the effects already, the effects of radiation sickness, the crumbled in pain, got a headache worse then usual and throwing up. Reaktor trying to get up looking yet in another horror scene and started to feel guilt, she just wanted to collapse and cry hours after the explosion. Akimov got out of the building too feeling ill. Reaktor took what is cost to reach him, to talk to him, unleash her frustration at him. Akimov layed his hand on her head and stroke it. ''Reaktor, please forgive me, i got what i deserve, you didnt. I knew something was off with you but couldnt convince the man in charge of the test.'' Akimov coughed and hold her hand before saying more ''You have no reason to forgive yet i beg you, Reaktor... Forgive me and stay strong, take care of everyone, I love you'' He got dragged away by medical personel, gone to a hospital. Reaktor got tears in her eyes, streaming down her face trying to get a few words out ''Akimov i will look for you, i will find you, i will heal you. I wanna see you again, even if need to wait. I forgive you. I will kill the person responsible for your injuries!'' She is no longer being able to keep her radiation level inside, she became a threat to everything. Reaktor crawled away from the power plant and passed out in the bushes. Reaktor 3 went look for her after he was shut down and take care since non of the people started to look for her. It was days later, after the evacuation one of the so called soldiers found her and took her to an abandoned house. He know he couldnt take her anywhere but he gave her shelter and food, wrapped up all the wounds and whole left side. Reaktor kept asking every day about Akimov but he knew nothing about his whereabouts. Power Plant workers started to look for Reaktor, liquidators needing to clean up the side from reactors 4's debris and any special person who tried to look for Reaktor couldnt find her as she was hidden away by this one person who visited every day until he got banned. Banned for taking so much radiation by helping out the Reaktor. It left so much people confused but they never figured out why he took more radiation damage then any other person on the side.

Reaktor gotten better as weeks has passed, but she kept waiting for this soldier to come again and bring her drink and food. Also still thinking about Akimov she decided to get out by herself and look for both of them. She was in a terrible shape as muscle has taken over the broken parts of her body, deforming her legs and arms. Broken spines and blood still leaking from under the plates, A black form of goop started to grow over her body slowly as result of poor treatment and cleaning. But non of them will ever come back to her. Reaktor decided to go back to the power plant and live in the building where the remains of the core are. Sometimes you saw her helping the liquidators cleaning up the roof and building a confinement to cover her destroyed building, which she planned to settle in for good and look for Akimov later. Power Plant personel kept her fed and satisfied and decided to give her proper treatment to recover fully again, even the spines and bones. They decided to tell the bad news because she kept asking about those two guys, telling her one was no longer allowed due high exposure and gotten ill, and that Akimov died due acute radiation sickness couple days after the disaster, Reaktor didnt believe it, she got angry, frustrated and felt into severe depression. Instead getting her treatment she ran away, hiding away under the debris of her exploded core. Eating the melted nuclear fuel and other debris in it. Drinking rain water that came in as result of leaks. The other reactors got restarted again and she remained there for years, living between the mess. People still look for her as hard they can, they still want to help her, give her a proper life after all the suffer. Every time they tried and found her in one of the dark rooms she was aggressive toward them, usually attacking and screaming to leave her alone, how much she hates humans. Depressed for being abandoned by 2 people already. for Chernobyl and surrounding areas that are empty and her not having a core anymore. Her promise to find Akimov. Years after the disaster, in 1992 she saw no longer the point of living, what is a reaktor without a functioning core? She gave up everything, Reaktor settled herself in the most radioactive room, dropping herself in a corner with her head facing to the wall or a wall of debris. No longer be willing to stand up, eat or drink or think about something,

Reaktor woke up seeing herself laying the the control room, this couldn't be true. The control room is destroyed and not functioning. She didnt felt pain, she felt the same she was before the disaster. Reaktor looked at her arms and the black goop covering her body was still there, blood was still there. Reaktor stood up and was being able to walk on both of her legs even while it shouldn't be. The room was empty but everything in the control room was operational. She walks through the room to examine everything, when she held her eyes on a camera screen she heard a sound and a voice. A voice calling for her name. Reaktor looked back and the sound was a door opening up, she took a step back feeling nervous seeing a sillout appear. The figure became more clear as it stepped in. Reaktor felt like her depression melted away, ''Akimov?'' With a silent voice Reaktor started to tear up and stood frozen. Akimov stepped in and closed the door, slowly walking to his devestated Reaktor. She backed off, it couldnt be Akimov, they said he died. ''Reaktor...Look at yourself girl, this is not what i wanted you to become-'' He couldnt continue his sentence as Reaktor intertupted with her frustration. ''You left me with nothing! Murdered this place and yet-'' Reaktors frustration suddenly faded and turned into positivity ''You are here, i found you'' She jumped on Akimov with tears of joy, Akimov took her in his arms but he knows...This cannot last for long. ''Reaktor... I know this is what you wanted, i can't reach you in the real world but finallly found a way in your heart'' Reaktor looked at him and realized again that he actually died, but he looks so real. ''Is this a dream? If it is i want to be in it forever!'' Reaktor finally had a smile on her face again after all those years. Akimov shake his head, ''Reaktor you know we cant stay together anymore, i want you to be happy. Dont feel bad about the disaster. You are a free Reaktor now, you can do so much what other reaktors cant. I want you to move on, you are never alone. I will always be with you, exploring places with you!'' He slowly let her go and pat her on the shoulder, Reaktor completely calmed down, stood over him like she used to do. Every day before the shift start and end. ''Akimov i will miss you, will find the place you burried and come for you'' said she quietly. Akimov smiled and grabbed her by the arm leading her to the door. 'Dont do that to yourself again Reaktor, step into the light. Next time i want to see you clean and well, take care of your yourself and meet me like i knew you'' He opened the door, letting her hand go. Reaktor noded and gave him a tumb up like the last time, this time she make sure its worth it. Akimov gave her a last poke ''Time to get back in your core, remember i love you and will always be with you'' Reaktor walked through the door looking into nothing, Akimov closed the door and left her standing in the darkness, her own darkness she need to fight.

Reaktor woke up back in the highly contaminated room, next to the corium pile they call the elephants foot. Time for her to leave this place and seek her new destiny that wasnt too far away. 3 persons where examining the destroyed rooms in the reactor building, trying to capture as much as they can. They ran into Reaktor and startled them. ''Is this #4? We have to get out of this place, they told us she might be very aggressive'' said one of them in a paniced voice to the others. The main man use a stick to keep the Reaktor away but she collapsed and started to whine and flail over the floor. The man where confused, a friend of them got injuried by the same Reaktor and now she submit to them? Unaware about her little secret meeting with Akimov they took her with them to show everyone in the power plant. Reaktor was really nervous about it but they where happy the depression suddenly melted away. Standing for a new challenge to fully restore her again behind a heavy protection against radiation as she is unable to hold it back and give off a huge amount. Taking months of treatment they finally managed to fix the bones, plates, spines, organ failures and abilities. When they asked her what gave her a sudden change of mind she looked up and whispered ''Akimov'' Greatful for all and being a free Reaktor she decided to leave Chernobyl and seek a new place, what place it will be is a surprise. She will always come back for Akimov's and everyones memorial, also checking out her old home.
