Biography

The festivities of the Greenskeepers Gathering didn’t interest Kalele.
She had a mission.
She spotted her objective. But, the main group was still too large to approach.
She waited.
Finally, a group of five split off. Still a lot, but would have to do. She referenced her
notes: The three Imperials Chennault, Arden and Anscross where listed as good friends
of each other. The Pearlcatcher Zo and the Coatl Thari the mates of Chennault and Anscross.
Two members of the clan’s elite force, a gatekeeper, the librarian and the nanny. She smiled at the notation ‘also a master level mage’ next to Zo’s picture.
Yes, this group should work.
She approached them cautiously.
The most distracted of the group, or so she thought, Anscross turned to her. “May we help you?
You’ve been tailing us for quite a while now.”
The others turned both curious and a bit surprised. All that is but, Thari who beamed at her ever watchful mate.
“I should have known I would have been spotted by a gatekeeper. My name is Kalele and I have a message for your leaders.”
“Okay, but why didn’t you just come up to our party two hours ago? When you first began watching us?”
She grinned at the shocked looks. She then recalled that it seemed to be Anscross’ idea to separate this group from the main. He had spoken with… she turned.
“Valtra, Bish greetings, and to you Sosulka.” She bowed sightly.
“Is there a problem here Chenn?” Valtra asked.
“I don’t believe so. It looks like we have an Inverness groupie.”
Kalele, rolled her eyes and smirked her grin in response to the laughter. “I have been sent to deliver a message to Diath.”
“From who?” Chennault replied.
“I can’t tel… “ She shook her head. “Forget that, we need to get started. It was given to me, indirectly, by the Gladekeeper.”
“Not another one.” Sighed Anscross. Others groaned.
“This happens often? “ Bish asked scanning his party.
“Yes.” Thari and Valtra replied together.
“More times than should.” Chennault added.
“Well,” Zo spoke softly as she inched even closer to her mate. “Shouldn’t we take her to see Diath?”
“Don’t suppose you have any proof?” Chennault asked Kalele.
“I’m sorry Lieutenant Chennault, I don’t - for you. But, I do have a message and I’m also sorry that I can’t revel it to anyone but Diath, Sonnet and Cimmeron.”
“What do you think, Valtra?”
“I say we send for the chieftain and wait for his decision.”
Chennault smiled. “Inspired. Arden, you and Zo head back and see what Diath and the others say. Zo can send her nymph back to me with the answer.”
Zo rubbed cheeks with Chennault and left with Arden.

Twenty minutes later, a sparkle nymph flew to Chennault and announced, “We are coming.”
The nymph then kissed Chenn on the cheek where Zo had rubbed.
“Please, tell me that that wasn’t from Diath.” He chuckled.
The nymph flitted in front of him, crossed it’s arms and stuck it’s tongue out before speeding off.
The crowd murmured as the procession approached. Once the others arrived, no less than fifteen dragons circled Kalele. She forced herself to remain clam.
Diath strode up to her. The large brown Guardian spoke, “You say you have a message for me?”
“I do m’lord form the Glademother.”
“The first word?”
“There are two: Chickadee stew.”
Eyes all around opened wide waiting for the verbal explosion from Diath. Instead he nodded.
Calysta smiled and explained. “ Only the Gladekeeper would use that combination. Anyone else would know Diath’s affinity for the birds and never think of using a like phrase.”
Then to Diath she said, “I’ll go a arrange a more private setting.”
___

In the pavilion, guards were posted and once it was assure they could not be overheard,
Kalele explained that there were changes coming and that the old ones were beginning to awaken. She, Kalele, was sent to Lulungomeena and clan Inverness to help with any issues that might arrive because of the expected arrivals. She also explained that she knew the old language and was trained to create scrolls to breed change the old to the new and vise versa if requested.
“There are very few of us trained as such. Most are not assigned to individual clans. But, the
Glademother favors you.” She bowed deeply.
