Runic look-alike of Thistle

Orion began to stir from his sleep, groaning in frustration. As he curled himself and attempted sleep again, a soft, lively sounding voice called to him. ”Psst! Hey! Wake up, I gotta show you something!” Giving into demands, the deep blue Fae opened his eyes. A bright light pierced his vision causing him to close them once more. Again, Orion opened them, much slower this time, and was awed by his lush and beautiful surroundings. Wordless, he gazed around until noticing the green, glittering Fae before him. He fanned out his fins feverishly as he spoke to Orion. ”Oooo, you have very pretty eyes! Wait, you must be wondering what’s going on. My name is Thistle!” Orion was only half listening to Thistle as he went on about history. What he was more interested in was the nearby spring where two dragons were conversing. Set to join them, Orion noticed the thick fur covering his being, and the antenna atop his head. How peculiar this was. ”Oh, you’re an amalgamate version of me, I think.” Orion was confused by this. What was he going on about?! His expression showed clearly on his face. ”Okay, it’s a long story. Basically, there was a stone tablet, and a couple spores latched onto it which created you! The feathers... I don’t completely understand, but I have a coat of fur, so that could be it. Oh! Don’t tell the others that you are me, though! Doc will totally freak out! We will call you...Orion. Sound good??” Thistle tilted his head as he waited for a response. Orion nodded slowly, still thinking over the other Fae’s words. "Great! Let’s go meet the others!”

Orion has some of the power that Thistle has, but it’s not as powerful/destructive and he doesn’t know he has them. Being the spore-based copy of an immortal deity, but not being able to tell/talk to anyone about it takes a bit of a tole on Orion. He has something of an identity crisis that he needs to think through, but he doesn’t like being alone (just like Thistle) so he surrounds himself with friends who see the two of them as completely separate beings.

Orion is a mostly solid Amalgamate, but his body does start feeling sticky when he gets upset (sad, angry, scared, etc.). When he uses his crystal magic (triggered only after he starts crying) his body starts to fall apart and sludge starts to slide off of him as his body morphs into an entity that the Amalgamate calls "Antares." The sludge, then, creates the mushroom traps that the Amalgamates are known for.
