Biography

Grima

Hunter
Mate:
Seriadne

Grima's plan didn't exactly work out.

No, his plan backfired entirely. The Raptorik had become increasingly aggressive. Even with all the moving around he did, Grima could scarcely go a night without a flock of Raptorik diving on him, taunting him into the air where they had the advantage. He didn't want to abandon this area just yet, there was so much prey to be had, but his pack members slowly left as they decided it wasn't worth it. He was the only one left, now. His plan was simple enough: drive the animals away from the Beastclan. Starve them out, or move the prey to a more comfortable place for him. He really didn't care much, so long as he came out on top.

He did not come out on top.

Rather, he came out running. He suspected the dryads had a stake in his undoing, but whatever the cause, the Raptorik always knew where he was. He had thought them a nuisance, no more, but that was when they hadn't been using full strength. The night they converged on him was the night he abandoned the Shrieking Wilds, Raptorik clinging to his back, claws dug painfully deep. They had no hope of keeping up with him if they let go, but their swords had been abandoned in a game of bucking bronco, and so one by one they peeled off. The only things left of his back were the scratches and scrapes. He continued running.

A soft trickle of water. Could he wash his wounds? He followed the sound, hoping. And ahead, his hopes became reality. A clear pool of water fed by a waterfall lie in wait. He slithered in, snake-like. The cool water stung, but in an oddly pleasant way. Grima surfaced, and-

"Oh."

Grima snapped his head around to the sound, and there stood a tundra, not twenty feet from him. A hiss at the ready, but no. She didn't seem confrontational, or even angry. Simply perplexed. "I suppose this is your ground, then?" he asked as he crawled back to the ground. He resisted the urge to shake the water droplets off. It didn't seem that would be a very dignified thing to do, and he didn't feel the want to pick a fight with her. He was tired, so tired, and maybe he could use a friendly face.

"Oh," she said again, and then, with a bit more hesitance, "no, I suppose not. Not really. Or at least, it hasn't been mine for long. Where's your clan? Your... pack?" Grima didn't quite have an answer at the ready, but she didn't wait for one. "You're hurt," she stated simply. Or maybe it was a question. She came closer to inspect his wounds, but he hissed and flared his crest. She didn't come any closer, but she didn't back off, either; she contented herself with sitting and cocking her head at him. "I'm Seriadne."

Seriadne was clearly waiting for his name in return. Seconds passed, and she made no move to continue with the conversation until he talked. "Grima."

"You're hurt." An unnecessary comment, one she already made, and yet it was repeated. "Grima, let me help you. I will help you. And you may leave if you wish, afterward, but I should like some companionship in the meantime..." Here she paused, then tacked on oddly at the end, "If you will provide it, of course."

He thought of denying it, moving on to find a new pack. But she seemed nice enough, and truth be told he wasn't in a good state to do much but rest at the moment. So he agreed.
