"You," Jargon began, walking in slow circles around her, "Have been gifted with the ability of prophecy."
"Jargon, this is madness." Silvana snapped, glaring at him coldly. She lifted her wings above her head; a show of aggression. "Back off. You're way out of line. Leave her be."
"It is a crime!" Jargon said, raising his voice over Silvana's protests and ignoring her completely. "So, how do you plead, Asha Voidaxe?" He paused, his small, yellow eyes glittering at her with coldness and hate.
Asha leveled him with a similar glare of her own. "I plead not guilty." Demoxi shot her a proud, but fear filled glance.
All around her, dragons gasped and rustled their wings. Jargon's eyes narrowed into slits. Silvana nodded at her and Aunt Adipose walked up next to Asha, giving her an encouraging smile.
"Not guilty?" Jargon snarled. He looked like he was barely managing not to blow up at her. "Please, explain. I'm sure you have sufficient evidence to back this up."
Asha lifted her head and spoke loudly. "As many of you know, I am the first in this clan to be born with multi-gaze. I also have runes all over my being. I was born with the gift of prophecy, which is not uncommon in Arcane lairs. My mother and father have done much research on whether my gifts are related to the fact that I was born with multi-gaze, but so far no evidence is there to suggest that it is anything other than a mere coincidence."
Asha began to pace. "My slight eyewing familiar, Tarot, is a celestial creature of magic. I was born here, in the Starfall Isles, where we worship the Arcanist, in a place where we specialize in the study of magic, and I was born with the gift of prophecy. And yet, you have called my gift a crime, dirty, and unnatural.
