Close with her big brother Alexander. As they grew up, Alexander got more and more distant because of his increasingly worrying involvement in shady dealings with a gang from the Southern Icefields. One day he disappeared and Alwyn decided to go find him. She followed leads all over the place, through the dark underbelly of Sornieth (familiar fighting rings, illegal distilleries, all sorts of places she never would've thought her brother to be involved in. Eventually she hears word of the ice gang her brother was involved with. She makes the trip to the Southern Icefields but is woefully unprepared to make the trip up the mountainside so she finds a guide in the tundra to each her how to safely make the trip. By now its been years since she has seen her home in Nature territory, and shes kind of giving up hope of ever seeing him again. Once the guide thinks shes ready she gathers her gear and starts hiking. She's getting tired when she comes across a group of dragons huddled around a fire on a relatively flat part of the mountain. She asks if she can stay a while and they say sure. Conversation switches to where she's from and what a Nature dragon from the other side of the world is doing in the heart of Ice territory. She gives them her story, saying how she's looking for her brother who disappeared a few years back due to what she believes is gang activity. The dragons say they know of him. She's optimistic and asks where they've seen him last. They all laugh in a sinister way and tell her they killed him because he owed them money and he couldn't pay them back. They say the debt falls on Alwyn because she's his next of kin, and if she can't pay they'll have to kill her too. Of course she doesn't have that kind of money on her because she only packed what she thought was necessary for the journey and money didn't make the list so she runs up the mountain trying to escape. A convenient snowstorm starts and she stumbles her way into a cave to get some shelter and wait out the storm. The entrance gets filled with snow though and she doesn't want to be a sitting duck so she keeps heading deeper and deeper into the cave. Suddenly she feels a familiar energy with her jewel and antenna. Curious, she follows it into a huge open space inside the cave. In the middle is a dragon encased in ice. She goes up to investigate and it turns out to be her brother, who was probably running from the gang just like she was. She tries to mine him out of the ice as best she can and then ties him up so she can take him with her as she tries to find the cave's exit. After what feels like weeks of searching, she finally finds an exit to the cave that takes her right to the fortress of ends. She finds another clan of ice dragons and asks if they can thaw him out but they tell her it would probably kill him. She could sense his aura only because he was in a coma of sorts and not actually dead. So instead they tell her they'll put a permafrost spell on him so he doesn't thaw out on her journey home. She thanks them and hitches a ride back to Nature territory with a group of travelling merchants. She's greeted with a warm welcome from her clan and everyone is surprised she actually found her brother. She explains his situation to them and Whisperwind suggests using all the nature mages to imbue life back into him while Denali (the only ice-nature dual mage in the clan) thaws him while keeping his life force intact. The whole thawing process takes weeks but it works in the end. When Alexander wakes up he's more than a little confused, but his sister explains it to him and from then on he works on being a kinder, more compassionate dragon and tries to drop his old bad habits. The end i guess lol
