B I O G R A P H Y

______ She was always a rather mournful dragon, that little fae. Other dragons were quick to disregard her as a mistake, a screw-up by two of the members of the Council. They all thought it was best not to acknowledge her, as that may upset her mother, and every member of the clan knew how vengeful Bluebell became when she was upset. But all this apathy took its toll on the young dragon, as she became more and more out of touch with her surroundings, preferring to live in a fantasy world of her own creation. In her world, she wasn’t a mistake. She was a leader, just like her mother, who was proud of her daughter’s accomplishments. She had a loving mate, friends, and she frolicked through the Tundra, not a negative thought in her mind. But this was just a fantasy. Some days, she thought her name was some sort of a sick joke. For, according to most of the clan, there was nothing ‘lovely’ about her.

______ She took refuge with the Wind dragons, who were just as lost in their own dreams as she was. They taught her to read air currents, and to use her diminutive stature to her advantage when flying, letting the cold breeze take her where it may. Amatski, another Fae, taught her the joys of music, something rarely indulged in by the Ice flight. He had constructed his own set of crude instruments, though they were the most beautiful things Liebestraum had ever heard. The dissonance or off-kilter tune of the imperfect instruments didn’t bother her at all, though Amatski was constantly revising them. She began to tool with these instruments, learning how to produce clear tunes through their strings and pipes. And slowly, as she learned these new skills, she began to let go of her grief. She poured it out through her fingertips, which translated her sadness into beautifully mournful melodies. Her haunting songs echoed through the cold winds of the Icefields, and in these moments, she finally felt like she belonged.
