Clan Leader
  • Born from an abandoned egg. In her birth clan, hatchlings like her were said to have come from shooting stars.
  • Restless spirit who set out on her own once she was old enough and ready, because she wanted to see the world for herself and find herself a home that she could shape instead of simply receive and watch.
  • Eventually met Niltan and around them slowly grew a friend group of misfit travellers, but despite her love for them, eventually Aruna set out again. She was afraid to settle, afraid to declare this as Right just because it felt like it was, because what if it's nothing? What if the real thing is still out there and she'll never know?
  • But nothing she found after that had felt even close to Niltan, and their friends, and the spires of crystal they'd started making their homes on. The horizon didn't hold the same promise anymore. And turning her head back the way she'd come, she realised, she decided - it doesn't matter if there's a chance of something more perfect still out there. It doesn't matter. It's a chance, and this, what she had back with her new friends, was certainty. Maybe it's imperfect, but it's real, and it's not worth giving up for the mere chance of something that might be better in some arbitrary way.
  • There are many points, many places, many souls beyond the curve of the horizon, but there's only one Niltan. There's only one Tirinka, and Syereth, and Rennun, and Aelroth-... There's only one Aruna too.
