The charged grass crackled beneath her talons as she took her first step out of the portal. Glancing around, she saw scraggly shrubs and twisted trees. "This looks familiar," she murmured to herself. Her teammates, paying her no attention, walked past her. Something thumped, and her head whipped around, trying to locate the source of the sound. Her teammates' mouths moved, but their words failed to reach her ears. The thumping grew louder, faster. Her head snapped around, and she saw it bearing down upon her. There it was, the creature that had nearly ended her life. And now it was back to finish the job.



Sand's eyes flew open, and the blurry faces of her teammates came into view.
