He remembered the times when she was joyful and free, her airy laughter filling the air as the two lay next to each other, their claws entwined with each other. He remembered when the two would talk for hours on top of a cloud, him pulling her into a slow waltz as the sun set behind them. Most of all, he remembered the tender moments when the she would plant a kiss to his cheek, and in return he would nuzzle her neck. Things have changed since then, and even if she had forgotten those days, he never would.
The two were arguing again, a gust of wind blowing the grass around them as he loomed over her. “Don’t you remember when we used to be able to freely express our thoughts around each other? Remember when we dreamed of traveling around the world together? What happened to then?” He shouted. They used to be so close, but those days have passed, this was now. “I cannot just abandon my children like you have done to yours!” She spat back at him. “Just because you must keep moving doesn’t mean that I follow in your path! Those days are gone, you cannot dawdle in the past, you must face the present and future as they are!”
The words were like a slap to his face, and he felt his anger boil to the top, all the thoughts that he had kept inside burst out, the wind around the two ascending into a crescendo. “Do you know why I stay in the past? Do you even know why I travel as often as I do? I miss how things were, I miss the golden age of this world when everything was young and beautiful! When we were free to do whatever we willed with no consequences. I can’t stand the thought of facing such a past when the future seems so grim!” He lashed out, the end coming out as a whisper. “I just want the future to be as bright as the past.” He muttered, the winds around him dying down as he slumped over, his massive body falling to the ground in defeat. “I miss you.”
Seconds of silence passed, a warm claw lifting his chin up so he was staring into radiant orbs. Eyes that used to be a vibrant yellow were now dulled to a tired gold, her eyes searching his for a moment before she sighed. “You were always one for drama weren’t you?” She said softly to him, a small chuckle escaping her lips as she moved her claws down to caresses his face. “The past may be gone, but there is always time for a brighter future as you said. Yes, things have changed, but you must understand that it is all for the better. We both have our own responsibilities and obligations, but it doesn’t weigh down the future like you might think.” She said to him, and he smiled at her, kissing her on the neck before nodding. “Your right.” He said softly. “Just promise me this.” “Yes?” “That when we arrive at this brighter future, you’ll be there by my side.
Everything was silent, claws once again sliding into each other as the sun began to set. “I promise.”
Kokoro's Story- The Cave Coming soon! Adventures with Cedro Coming soon! The Battle of The Darkness- Two Hearts as One Theme Song: "Children of the World" by BrunuhVille When the Shade-like entity simply named "The Darkness" attacked the Ashfall Wastes and took the powers of the Flamecaller hostage, only a small batch of dragons stood against it. Cedro, the Ashfall Prince and alleged son of the Flamecaller, was prophesied to be the only one who could beat this fearsome foe that could control weak minded individuals to wage battle against those who used to be their friends. Kokoro, his best friend and adopted sister, refused to let Cedro fight the final battle with The Darkness alone. "Kokoro stay here!" Cedro thundered in anger before turning back to the raging ash filled sky. He had to get to the top of the Great Furnace. That was where that thing... this Darkness was anchored to the world. If he could destroy whatever was keeping it anchored then it would no longer be able to control the dragons it was using against them now. A clawed paw grabbed his shoulder and forced him to turn around. Kokoro glared up at him with the fiercest expression he'd ever seen her make, "There is no way I am letting you do this alone! I will not sit on the sidelines when you could be killed! We swore we'd always stick together and that's we are going to do! I don't care what you say because I'm going with you anyway!" So Kokoro climbed to the top of the Great Furnace with her beloved brother even though she was terrified of what they would find and what they would battle. Koko didn't have any combat skills but she was quick on her wings and ready to fight. She was correct that the battle was horrible. In fact, Kokoro died in the middle of it. She knocked Cedro out of the way of an Endarkend dragon controlled by The Darkness that was about to shove him into the Great Furnace and was shoved in instead. The next thing she knew, she was waking up in this white cloudy place in the sky. She glanced around to find the Windsinger and the Lightweaver smiling down at her. "Wah..." Koko gasped and blinked like she couldn't believe her eyes, "Where...?" "Hello child," The Lightweaver said with a motherly affection. The Windsinger grinned and winked, "Hey there kid." Kokoro frowned and opened her mouth when the Windsinger said, "We saw your bravery kid." The Lightweaver nodded with a soft smile, "You are the most peaceful, fun-loving creature I have ever seen and yet you possess a bravery that topples mountains." "But... didn't I die? The fire...Cedro!" Kokoro exclaimed worriedly but the Windsinger shushed her with another grin but the Lightweaver interjected before he could talk, "We've been watching you, dear. Like the Flamecaller, we cannot interfere with this Darkness directly but we can—" "We can act through another just like our sister is doing with Cedro!" The Windsinger interrupted. The Lightweaver scowled slightly at him and then nodded, "He is right. And we have chosen to act through you Kokoro." Koko's eyes widened as the two gods came close and each touched her on the forehead. "We give you our gifts!" They both said together with smiles. The Windsinger waved and winked, "Now get back out there and win!" In the next instant Koko was falling. Falling... She hadn't yet reached the lava of the Furnace! She had no idea if that dream had been real or not but she felt more energized than ever. Grinning, she pushed her wings out hard and was utterly surprised to see her ice colored scales now shimmering with a rainbow of colors! She let out a laugh and knew in that instant that she and Cedro, with everyone's help, were going to beat The Darkness. She shot above the Furnace like a glittering rainbow and came down upon The Darkness that was now attacking Cedro directly. Seeing her, Cedro's fighting spirit seemed to revive and together they battled The Darkness. And won. Epilogue- Finding Tsubaki Coming soon! Personality, Skills and Abilities Everything is interesting to Kokoro and the world is still a gigantic place in her eyes. She is impish, silly, clumsy and has the curiosity of a cat. She smiles most of the time, loves to make jokes, and tease her big brother. She loves to travel to different places and meet new dragons. Currently Coming soon! |
