+ powerful mage, has to spend a lot of time draining off excess magic from his core (aka setting stuff on fire, mostly, or tinkering with the border wards) and avoids the Outpost (and, more specifically, Blackglass) except for brief visits due to the presence of the node
+ no one else knows the Orozha boundary wards like he does
+ speaks absolutely terrible coatl so lets Swiftclaw or Pyrixia deal with any coatl travellers
+ is the most likely to set "traps" up "for fun" and leave wanderers who stray off of the Correct Path in them for hours at a time, just to "see what they do"
+ is able to consistently track down Swiftclaw no matter how much she tries to hide (to her aggravation) and provides her bonepicker regular bribes, on the sly, so it never attacks him. hasn't told her that it's her magical signature he's tracing, not her physical presence.
