Enchant was created by the Stormcatcher for one purpose-travel Sornieth and learn the ways of as many clans as he possibly could, and then report back. He was given strength like no other dragon, wisdom beyond his years, and a deep connection to the element of lightning, but when he manifested on Sornieth he had no life experience or practical knowledge. Luckily the confused fae was found by an equally confused Reverie, who was gathering herbs, and for several hours the two sat in a field in the sunbeam ruins and were confused about the world together, until Stellar went to look for Reverie. The coatl brought both muddled dragons back to the clan, and Enchant was instantly a social butterfly, wanting to hear everything from and about everyone. Roots found him extremely annoying, Garland wanted to adopt him until Enchant proclaimed he was very much an adult (though that has never deterred Garland before), and the general consensus was that Enchant should be allowed to stay. Starlight worried about Enchant's safety, since the fae had to be taught how to eat without choking but was a skilled cook, and therefore the clan leader decided to allow Enchant to join-which sparked the first argument he and Roots had had in centuries. It was clear to everyone, after Enchant told the clan about his purpose, that the Stormcatcher did a truly terrible job of making Enchant. Not only did He fail to teach Enchant any basic life skills at all, he also managed to stick him in the wrong body. Aside from Roots, every clan member more or less got along with Enchant, but he was particularly drawn to Driftwood. The fae was the complete opposite of all the information Enchant had been given about the species. Driftwood taught Enchant to swim, which quickly became one of his favorite things. There was a rift between Riverside and Driftwood that had been growing even before Enchant's arrival, but the newcomer cemented Driftwood's resolve, and he told Riverside he wanted a serious relationship-news the pearlcatcher did not take well. Enchant, on the other hand, had fallen so quickly in love with Driftwood that he was thrilled. |
