Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this brightly-colored boi wandered a little too far from his home lair with glace0n (#364009), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Owners I've Had:
Glace0n #364009 -
His adventure began at the dawn of the shadow age in the Tangledown Wilds. The throne was seized by a crazed heretic who demanded that all surviving Tangledown warriors must bend the knee to their new king.
Surefoot bends the knee to no one.
He chose a life of exile, doomed to wander the plains until his kingdom accepted him back or the deities called upon him for a higher purpose... whichever came first.

Jubilations #81613 -
Surefoot thought the best place to seek for his adventures was as far south as he could go. What better place to get away from the Tangledown warriors than the complete opposite side of the realms. Though the Southern Icefields were much colder a climate than he was used to. He sought out the greens of the higher climates in the Cloudscrape Crags, struggling through the frost. Surefoot was overtaken by the cold and exhaustion of his travels. He awoke to warmth again. Blinking awake, he felt a steady warm movement next to him.

It stirred when he did and as it did he realized he was under the wings and shelter of an enormous Guardian dragon. She lifted her large dark wing enough so that light would pour in to help with their view. Clumps of snow spilled off of her as she moved. Surefoot spoke as he gathered what had happened, "You sheltered me from the snow..."

The guardian lifted head in recognition but said nothing. Surefoot spoke again. "Thank you, I apologize, I'm traveling and I don't know how to repay you." The guardian stared calmly. Surefoot shifted awkwardly, unsure of what to do with the silence. Perhaps she's unable to speak.. It may be better to be going, he thought. Surefoot stood, the guardian took her wing back to her body from over him as she settled into squat position.

"Would you happen to know which way to go for a less frigid climate around her? I'm afraid I'm a bit lost." he asked. The guardian turned her head slowly towards a direction for him to take and then looked back to him. He nodded, thanked her again, and went on his way.

Lunusdragoness #17407 -

he stayed long enough to see the clan do a massive lair exalting a lot of dragons were sent off to lightning flight to help with their recent dominance battle with ice, Surefoot decided to leave after that to save them room.

akolit #191543 -

His journey led him to a place where he never expected to find himself. He spent days wandering the barren fields of decay in The Scarred Wasteland, trying to find his way out of this labyrinth of bones. The sick smell of death was following him wherever he went. Hoping against all hope, he kept pushing forward while thinking of the tales of travelers lost here for centuries. Surefoot prayed to meet a different fate than those less fortunate before him.

But the fate must have smiled upon him that day because out of nowhere, on the brink of exhaustion, he met a group of dragons. On the front of the group stood a dragon not much bigger than himself, but the way she carried herself made him feel small in comparison. She was draped in lavish golden silks and there was a faint glow around her that made it look as if her head was surrounded by a halo. Were his eyes betraying him? He never expected to find such a sight in these parts of the world.

"What is a dragon of the Gladekeeper doing here?" She said sharply, but her words did not come out unkindly. The dragon extended her hand out to him and that was their first step to a friendship that would last for years to come.

He soon learned that her name was Camellia. When he found out that she's a leader of one of the mighty lairs surviving in the The Abiding Boneyard, he couldn't help but be distrustful at first. But even as she showed him the ropes on how to survive in the wasteland and offered him the hospitality of her home, Camellia never asked him to bow to her. As the time went by, she opened his eyes to the idea of a ruler that uses their power to protect others.

He was heartbroken when the time came to see the rest of the world. Both dragons knew deep inside that they would probably never see each other again. They stood on the edge of the border in heavy silence.

"You know, I will never forget you... and I hope you never forget me either." She removed a citrine ring off her claw and handed it to Surefoot with a small smile curling on her lips. He didn't look back when they finally parted their ways because he knew that he wouldn't find it in himself to say goodbye.

Crystalwood #195518-
Surefoot headed west and found himself in the Starwood Strand. He wandered all day until he was narrowly missed by a stray arrow. He looked toward the origin of an arrow and saw a young dragon holding a bow and a Tundra running his way.

"Are you alright?" The Tundra of brilliant greens and golds frantically looked over him.

"Yes, it completely missed me." Surefoot assured him while picking up the arrow from nearly 5 feet away.

Another Tundra sauntered up from behind the first. "Sorry about that," he said. "We were teaching some of the hatchlings battle skills."

"We should cut this short, Starseer." The first Tundra insisted. "We don't want to risk an incident where that did hit someone." He nodded at the arrow.

The Tundra called Starseer let out a heavy sigh. "I guess you are right."

Starseer waltzed back over to the hatchings while the other Tundra continued to apologize profusely. "I am so terribly sorry again. It's almost dark, could we repay you with some tea and a place to rest for the night? I'm Ember, the hatchling caretaker, by the way."

Surefoot graciously accepted the place to stay for the night, knowing that it was best he not be in the Starwood Strand after dark. Ember, Starseer, and Surefoot sat, drinking tea and talking for hours, and the Tundras, who has stayed in one place most of their lives, listened in awe when Surefoot talked about his travels. All three of them fell asleep talking.

The next morning, Ember had to go take care of the hatchlings, but Starseer and Surefoot had breakfast then got to say hello to some other dragons in the clan. Around midday, Surefoot decided it was time to say goodbye. He thanked Starseer for his hospitality and asked him to pass the message along to Ember, then flew on his way to discover new places and new dragons.
