Dionysus is a Skydancer dragon that comes from a family of dragons that work as messengers that help ensure that every clan and every clan member get scrolls and runes. When Dionysus was born, he was the laziest of his litter, which earned him the name 'Dionysus' after the Greek God of the same name who seemed to have the tendency to laze around. However, as he grew up and became more energized, he become the fastest and most active among his siblings.

During a meeting between the Oolong clan and his clan, the Shoumei clan, he noticed a bright blue dragon standing in the corner. He introduced himself to the dragon who looked annoyed at someone bothering him. He later learned through a different member of the Oolong clan, a botanist named Cinema, that the dragon's name was Johan. As the days went by after the meeting, Dionysus noticed that he came to the clan's lair more often to receive letters from Johan. About a month later, Dionysus was courageous enough to ask Johan on a date, to which Johan said no. A few more attempts later, Johan finally accepted his offer, and years later they got married.

While Dionysus is not around the Shoumei's lair often because of his occupation, he likes to help out with taking care of the hatchlings and help the other members whenever he can, whether it be gathering items for the healers or helping chop food for the cook.
