History Jessica grew up in a large clan with hatchlings being shipped out of it on a regular basis once they were old enough for a clan to take interest in their particular skills and talents, the most popular hatchlings either knew how to fight or had lovely scales that were polished to a shine. Jessica had neither polished scales or a talent for violence, she could however paint, draw, and make medicines for the sick or injured. these talents gained her the attention of the clan healer who took the younger under his wing and taught her a bit more about the plants she used to make her medicines and what plants to use for the best colors and she was a brilliant student.Jessica's talents made her less popular to some clans had others mainly because stable clans tended to have a healer and artists were really more a luxury in most clans. the clans that were gathering new members were the smaller ones that were, usually, just starting to get settled into an area or ones that had recently moved and were still settling into their new homes. she eventually left of her own violation and wandered, finding it better to wander than wait for what may never come, wandering became second nature to her and she found comfort in the few companions she would find from time to time. She wandered for a long time, stopping to help clans that needed a healer or to trade herbs with other healers, she often set up a portable den in a place she stopped in and stayed for a few days before moving on. gaining the attention of many clans for the artwork she displayed on her den because her portable den's walls were covered in beautiful and colorful pictures of anything and everything that had caught her eye. Jessica helped dragons when she could and when she couldn't offered the seeds of useful herbs that were harder to find in the area she stopped in. she often sold her art for a decent price with little difficulty, of course she would accept other forms of payment rather than just gems and treasure, apparel could be resold if she didn't use it herself and she felt joy that her art was being treasured by the clans she found along the way. Many times a clan she had helped would give her cavass or paper before she would leave an area.Getting to the Windsweapt plateau Jessica loved the freedom she felt all but thrumming in the air and she set up her den on a spot that was more sheltered from the strong winds. she helped several healers when needed a particular herb and sold a great many of her paintings and sketches before seeing a lively pale skydancer while she wandered, branches with pale leaves spread from her shoulders and Jessica found herself asking a great many questions. finding a friend in the skydancer, Kelly, although at first their friendship was more of a rivalry, with each trying to out paint or out sketch the other in a way. it gave Jessica a reason to try to paint or sketch new things as she tried to out do Kelly's art with a passion not many had expected, this rivalry never really ended even when Jessica joined the clan, but it calmed down enough for the two became close friends although they still challenge each other and have a friendly rivalry with their art |
