This beautiful XXX midnight Nocturne was born to two of the darkest dragons in the Tangled Wood. Between dabbling in dark magic and practicing ancient methods that have been outlawed in Sornieth, Maleficent’s parents became the icons of destruction—at least to the dragons of the Shadow Realm. Maleficent therefore was no stranger to the darkness that pulsed within her birth clan in the Wispwillow Grove. She learned how to manipulate the shadows and use the mysteries to her advantage. However, sometimes her mischief went beyond even the expectations of the Shadowbinder. Hidden among the shadows, Maleficent often deceived others in her birth clan into believing they saw things that weren’t there. Dragons suffering, clans being raided, precious objects being stolen. Maleficent slinked and crawled throughout the lands with her gift of dexterity in search of ignorant victims to taunt and haunt, her laugh echoing as her clanmates succumbed to the horrible images she placed in their heads…

Until one day things went too far.

Maleficent had dug the perfect hearth within the heart of the Foxfire Bramble. The twisting branches provided her with protection that dark magic couldn’t. After all, a sorcerer couldn’t cast spells if they’d been impaled. Very few dragons wandered into the Bramble, but those who did were met with the gnarled roots of the murky forest. Maleficent, however, illuminated bits and pieces of every branch, as if thousands of eyes were watching over the Bramble. Guided by Maleficent’s imaginary light, many dragons wandered in…and never came back out.

One day Maleficent awoke to darkness, as she always did living in the Shadow Realm. But she also awoke to silence. The usual whispering of her clanmates and the sizzling, popping, and creaking of tricks and magic could not be heard anywhere in Maleficent’s clan. Confused, Maleficent wandered for weeks, searching every crevice and hidden crack within the Realm, but she finally understood with heartbreaking certainty that her family had abandoned her. The lovely Nocturne, despite all her tricks and quirks, couldn’t help feeling betrayed, as if her illusions were all part of a cruel fate meant to curse her. What she hadn’t realized was how many deaths her trick had caused in the Foxfire Bramble, but her guilt only extended so far before she once again felt like she’d been left stranded in the forest by the only dragons she cared about.

Two years later on the Night of the Noctune, a somber Skydancer named Tobio discovered the lost wandering soul causing trouble in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. Accumulating from the dust and particles in the air, Tobio offered Maleficent her wing and took Maleficent back to her clan. Although Maleficent was hesitant at first, she was grateful for the Skydancer, adorned in Conjurer’s clothing, who seemed to understand the darkness inside her that yearned for deviance. When they arrived at Tobio’s clan, situated in the Wispwillow Grove, Maleficent met others like her, and a sense of calmness washed over her, something she hadn’t felt in her years of isolation.

Maleficent settled comfortably into her new clan. She made friends with the Starmap Pearlcatcher Percy and the brutal Imperial Set, traveling the Realm and going on adventures in the hours between midnight and morning. Once or twice, Maleficent even ventured into the Sunbeam Ruins, curious as to what her element’s counterpart was like. She was met with bright lights and sparkling rays of gold—Maleficent couldn’t have run away faster from the Light Realm. Now, Maleficent freely causes chaos under the Shadowbinder’s veil of trickery. Her love of darkness reigned over her beating heart. Any concern that Maleficent had had for her deserting birth clan dissolved into smoke once she realized that her true home lay with the strange and dangerous clan of the Wispwillow Grove lead by Tobio.
