Biography

Blood soaked and sore Harmony attempted to stay up in the air to find his family. He could feel his wings start to rip from the abuse he had taken from the blood bath he just fled from. The Mirror dragon's clan had been attacked by a group of Deadland Disciple suddenly and he fell back to give them a chance to escape. The tired mirror just wanted to return to his clan and die surrounded with love. His vision started to cloud over from blood dripping into his eyes. Diving from the air the mirror dragon dropped into the trees bellow in the Viridian Labyrinth. Branches scrapped his scales and punctured his wing until he finally found purchase on one single limb. He breathed a deep sigh, only to have the branch holding him bend downward, causing him to roll off and behind a wall of the spanning Labyrinth.  A tundra dragon was standing over him when his eyes next open. She tried to speak with him but none of the woman's words were crossing into his ears.

Decay had been tending to her burrow when the snapping of branches followed by a booming thud caught her attention. She found an injured mirror dragon just inside the ruin under protection. "Are you okay?" She questioned. There was no response beyond blinking blood filled eyes. Decay bit him by the scruff of his neck and dragged him under a bush, into her new forming burrow. The voice she grew up hearing in the wind spoke. Help him.

The next time Harmony woke up his surroundings had changed. He found himself inside a burrow that was bathed in blue light from water held back by a window. That was something he never saw or heard of before. Against the glass was the gray tundra who had attempted to talk to him earlier. She was sleeping. Yawning, the mirror dragon looked around and found a water bowl right in front of the small nest he was in. Inching forward Harmony ignored the burning pain in the side of his torso and guzzled down the whole bowl. Inching back onto the nest he noticed there were bandages around his body. This was safe. This place was the Tundra's home. Soon he was back asleep.

Almost all of Harmony's injuries were healed over the length of a year. His torso, however, was still in in need of cleaning and bandaging regularly by Decay. Harmony did not fail to notice the instant sense of safety he felt with Decay. The Gray dragon was naturally cheerful, patient, and comfortable in taking charge of situations. Everyday for months she made sure he was getting enough food and water, while also gathering and forging everything they both needed, by herself the entire time. Instead of dying surrounded by love, Harmony had managed the impossible: He found his mate. It didn't take long for him to ask Decay if once he was healed if she would accept him. She accepted in that moment.

"Decay! Decay! His wounds are infected again!" Deceiver yelled from the entrance of the now spanning burrow. "Come quickly!" The Skydancer returned to the medicine ward.

Harmony was dying for sure this time and he knew it. Just holding on long enough to see his mate would be a blessing to him. Once Deceiver returned she morphed back into her two legged form to make room for Decay who practically flew into the room. Fear had taken over in her eyes. "Harmony, please no."

"In my last moments you wish to argue my death?" He attempted to scoff but coughed instead. "I think if you wish to attempt your hand at that little scroll you found last year, now would be the time." Jagged breaths sped up as he spoke.

Frowning, Decay sat back on her hindlegs. "Deceiver, please go to my den and retrieve the scroll with Guardian stamped under the wax, it'll be in my bag of scrolls." She started taking off the blood soaked bandages from Harmony's torso. Silence filled the room once again.  The process of changing breeds was delicate and something she had never done before. Harmony being at risk of death already only gave him only a 5% chance of living through the spell.  Staying calm was her key to saving his life. Any feeling of stress could trip her up by fogging her memory and Harmony knew this about his mate.

"Can you sing for me? I love when you sing." Harmony asked softly, when Decay sang it would calm her down. Let her mind work without pause. Each breath was becoming painful.

Picking up a salve to cover the wound she scrunched her face for a moment. "I can try." In that moment Deceiver returned and handed over the scroll. Turning back to Harmony, the Tundra looked him over once more before she started her song
Staring in the blackness at some distant star
The thrill of knowing how alone we are, unknown we are
To the wild and to the both of us
I confessed the longing I was dreaming of

❦

'Cause there's no better love
That beckons above me, there's no better love
That ever has loved me, there's no better love
So darling, feel better love

'Cause there's no better love
That's laid beside me, there's no better love
That justifies me, there's no better love
So darling, feel better love
Feel better love

Months passed with Harmony in a deep hibernation. The physical changes came quickly, within days of Decay finishing the spell. Her main concern was that he wouldn't smell the same anymore and that she would forget him. To help off set that she stayed in the med ward with him whenever she wasn't needed else where. It was a painful time for the Conclave.

Harmony had finished his transformation three months after the spell was cast but awoke a week after that. Things did change with him. Now he was more protective and stubborn. Still he fell in line with whatever Decay wished of the new Guardian. Harmony chose his mate as the subject of his protective nature which meant he spent more time guarding the surrounding of their ruins. All that was left of his injury was a massive scar crossing his torso.
