Nahtryr

Nahtryr takes her place among the family of the former rulers as a scout and informant. Since the devastating loss of her mate's clan and territory she finds that she must resort back to her old ways, the comfort and security that she'd spent so much time cultivating, now gone.

She spends each day with her aviar familiar watching the new clan from afar with her son, Hyvel, as she teaches him all she knows in the ways of subterfuge. She'd hoped that her children would never know the life of war she'd lived during the early days of her clan's making, but that dream is no more.

As she watches her mate sink deeper into his despondent state, and his parents' relationship fray, she wonders if there will ever be a time when peace finds its way back into their hearts.
